We found the apartment, lovely, warm and welcoming. Very well equipped and very comfortable with a lovely large bed. Ideally situated with local buses and metro conveniently to hand. we shall definately be back, thank you! This is a great area to walk around with plenty of good local cafes and restaurants. For a special treat check out le Cottage Mercadet, on rue Mercadet, a chef owned tiny restaurant which was stunning. Our guests comments say it best. This is truly a wonderful base from which to embark on a French holiday. Consider taking a French cooking lesson through our partner cooking school, Cooking With Class to your holiday rental. About the Area

Located on a quiet, residential side street in Montmartre. The apartment is literally surrounded by the artistic heritage of Paris. It is bounded on one side by the former studio of Toulouse Lautrec, on another side by the Cite des Fusains, which housed artists such as Forain, Poulbot, Renoir, Willette, and on the third side by the Cimetiere de Montmartre, a final resting place of many leading French poets, writers, artists, and historic figures. Some people who are buried there include Dalida, Alexandre Dumas, Stendhal, Edgar Degas and Hector Berlioz. The Picture Perfect apartment has a neighborhood cafe just steps from its front door as well as a green grocer, wine shop, cheese shop, 'patisserie', and more.

About the apartment

This apartment has been fully renovated to give a very modern appeal to it. The original moulding still exists, however, everything else is very contemporary. Original photo prints adorn the walls throughout this apartment and most were taken by the owner himself, a professional photographer. All of the tall French windows overlook the Montmartre Cemetery and there is an incredible amount of streaming daylight. Summer is a beautiful time to stay here as all of the trees by the windows become full of foliage. But at any given time of year you are never short on light. We have installed venetian blinds to allow you to decide how much light you wish to let in or not.

More about the apartment

The living room has a very comfortable sofa bed that can sleep 2 adults, along with cushioned wicker arm chairs plus a dining table and chairs for 4. The floors have been covered with bamboo carpets and African area rugs a result of the owners many photographic missions around the world. You can relax after a long day of sight-seeing by watching the cable Television which provides international channels. We have recently added a DVD player so feel free to bring a few DVDs (we hope to have a collection of our own soon). The bedroom has two twin beds that can either be kept together or separated depending on your needs. We assure your comfort with the addition of a larger cover mattress so the twins become a king-size without a fuss (we take care of this before your arrival. A large commode has also been provided so you can empty your suitcases and really feel at home. You also find in the bedroom a permanent computer with free internet access but you may also feel free to bring yours.
