Great accomodation in great location in Paris

Review Submitted: November 13, 2008 Date of Stay: May 2008
We stayed in this apartment for an extended weekend, and we were pleasantly surprised by what it had to offer. It was clean, comfortable, with a small kitchenette, and fairly quiet. Surrounded by numerous little shops, a market and shopping street, and located between two metro lines, it is situated in fantastic location and it's easy to explore Paris from here. The famous Moulin Rouge is only 15 mins walking distance away, and you can see Sacre Coeur from the main road running parallel to the street of the apartment. The owner, who lives in the same house, is very nice and we will definitely be back again! Thank you very much for an amazing little holiday.

Great place to stay in wonderful neighborhood

Review Submitted: March 24, 2009 Date of Stay: March 2009
We stayed one full week in this charming apartment in Paris' 17th arrondissement. True to the description, the property was clean, well-maintained, wonderfully quiet (facing only inside courtyards), and equipped with so many items of basic food, utensils, bathroom articles, etc. that we felt immediately at home and needed to buy very little in those areas. Upon arrival we were immediately met by the very genial owner, who showed us everything (entry procedures, use of telephone, adjusting heating, etc.) and told us how to instantly contact him should there be any problem. Needless to say, we did not need to reach him at all, as everything went perfectly. He went out of his way to walk us directly to a nearby Internet cafe and on the day of our departure was there to say farewell and help us meet friends who were picking us up for a ride to the airport. In this cozy apartment we felt immediately at home in this wonderful Parisian residential neighborhood. Very convenient to a subway junction (Metro Villiers), the 17th
arrondissement offers visitors a look into how residents of Paris lead their daily lives. The open markets and shops on Rue Levis and adjoining streets are astounding with their variety of fruits, vegetables, cheeses, pastries, etc.
There are excellent small restaurants, friendly and cozy, featuring almost all cuisines including Lebanese, Indian, Japanese, Vietnamese, etc. If you want to eat "chez vous" in the apartment but not cook, you have marvelous take-outs ranging from Vietnamese to Italian, and the many bakeries always have a wide range of sandwiches to go.
With the Metro, especially using the change point at Opera, one can be almost anywhere one wants to be in Paris within 15 or 20 minutes. Based on all the above and more, we would highly recommend this vacation property for those wanting to feel that they actually "lived" in Paris for a short period of time. Compared to even some smaller hotels nearby, this property is priced most reasonably.
Please consider it for a great Paris experience.

A very special place

Brazilian São Paulo / Brazil
Review Submitted: February 6, 2009 Date of Stay: January 2009
For the second time, we spent a week in Paris in this wonderful one bedroom apartment, very well located, close to rue de Levis, a paradise for food lovers and cookers. It's quite near Villiers metro stop where you have lines 2 and 3 that may take you wherever you want in Paris. It's quiet, cosy and the owner receives us as old friends, always so helpful and kind. Nice furniture, as well as the linen provided, helps creating a hommy feeling. Around the corner, there's a new brazilian restaurant, among other good possibilities that we liked too, besides an excelent bakery. We certainly will recommend it to all our friends interested in discovering the real Paris, the one parisians love.

Misleading Descriptions

Sunshine Coast Australia
Review Submitted: December 6, 2008 Date of Stay: June 2007
My brother and I stayed in this apartment for 4 nights in 2007. This is most definately a one bedroom apartment. The bedroom is crowded with too much furniture (dining table). Also the TV was located in the bedroom, rather than the lounge area, which made it difficult for my brother and I to watch TV at night after a long day sightseeing. Instructions in the apartment were very poor, and it took some work to figure out where the washing machine was and how to use it (hidden in the benchtop). The bathroom only had a hand held shower accessory in the bath and no window covering, which offered absolutely no privacy for either of us when using the bathroom (as the window in the hallway looks straight into the bathroom). A simple window curtain and also a shower curtain and shower fitting on the wall would make a world of difference. Additionally this apartment is more than a few steps from Parc Monceau. This description should be taken with a pinch of salt. This is a tiny apartment with too many bits and pieces in it. A little less clutter would make for a much more comfortable apartment, which is after all, in a lovely location. Good for a couple only.
Owner's Response: i read those" critics" and i believe they are not acceptable and i can t let them being wroten as they are so caricatural and typical from people who obviusly expect everything to be like home and should not then travel to far from there own town(australia in the present case):to sum up
there is no "dining table" in the bedrom but a" 17 century office table!!!
this person said 'it made difficult" to whatch tv in the bedroom(that should be in the lounge according to her)!i still don t understand what is the problem there???
there is perfect privacy in the bathroom as the window face a wall, you then really have to force yourself to see someone while hanging yourself out of the hallway window
the apartment is located 4 minutes walk from park Monceau , wich i still consider a few steps
this apartment has received up to 7 people and mostly receive 4 people, and it works perfecly
i is the first time after years of renting that i receive this kind of remarks , and i have many people coming back every year or sending me there friends
90 % of the people staying there let me a written message saying how much they appreciated the apartment;thanks to them
thank you to you to have the possibility of an answer as it would be totaly unfair to receive with no contest those kind of nonsens comments that could affect the renting of this place

Live like in

Review Submitted: June 30, 2008 Date of Stay: June 2008
Our daughter and I found this former "chambre du bonne" very charming, a little bit "bohemian" and, after so many years of visiting Paris always in hotels, just as if beeing thrown into an average Parisian life. My husband, at first a little bit exhausted about the several sorts of crackled dishes and a broken window glass was overwhelmed when we served him a coffee cooked on the tiny rusty ovenplates and some of the little cakes of the patissier in the street beyond. There was always hot water available in a charming little bath room (it grew a little bit cold and rainy in the beginning of June) .The owner was nice and friendly, very helpful when we looked for a garage and welcomed us with a vase of fresh flowers in front of the mantelpiece. Of course the rooms were a little bit tinier as we had expected and it was a little adventure to get into bed - but, we cooked wonderful meals in the tiny kitchen corner (and had bought everything we needed in the little shops in the Rue Levin or some of the neighboured streets. (Very soon we started to try what the restaurants nearby offended - anything was excellent) And - thanks to the 76 stairsteps we felt wonderful active. Each day we liked to return to this place from all the museums and gardens. It was very calm and - of course - very near Parc Monceau,(and the museums around), a wonderful location we knew until then only in winter. Of course we recommended and will recommend the apartment (and the restaurants and the shops) to friends, some of them will start very soon to be there. We´ll be back some times, that´s for sure!!!!
