If you enjoy the beach, surf, golf, spa and good food....this could be the place! This apartment is situated in a vibrant area and is located on the beach and very close to restaurants, shops, bakery and pharmacy. There is plenty to do for children with the miniature golf, beach clubs, carousel, surf schools and beach volley ball. This apartment is frequently used by the owners and therefore is equipped and maintained to a higher standard than normal holiday accommodation. Biarritz / Anglet is easily accessible by plane (direct flight from London and Dublin with Ryanair and from Paris, Lyon / flights to Bordeaux or Pau plus car drive), by train (high speed train from Paris), or by car (motorway all the way). In the summer time, direct flights from London Gatwick to Biarritz.

Anglet is on the Atlantic coast in the Basque region of France, and is 30 minutes away from the Spanish border. The flat is located in Anglet “La chamber d’Amour” (beach/plage “les Sables Dor”) and a 2 minutes drive from Biarritz town centre. Anglet has beautiful sandy surfing beaches (4,5 km of white sand), 18 hole Chiberta Golf course, Spa “ Athantal”, Tennis Club, Equestrian centre, Natural Park 'Foret du Pignada'(230 hectare of forest), Ice Skating Rink and Marinas. La Chambre d' Amour has Bars, Restaurants & Surf shops. All at 5 minutes away from the flat! It is a young and vibrant family resort; this is also where the World Surfing Competitions and Exhibitions are held annually. Anglet centre (10 minutes by car) has a large commercial centre with several hypermarkets including Carrefour, Casino, Leclerc, Decathlon. There is also Bowling, an indoor Adventure Game for Children and numerous cinemas.

What to do around?: The flat is situated just a few minutes away from the fashionable and glamorous Biarritz town centre and 20 minutes from some of the charming Basque villages (Guethary, Bidart, Arcangues, St Jean Pied de Port and many more). Other more neighborly towns include Bayonne with a magnificent ancient cathedral overlooking the winding medieval streets and historic St Jean de Luz typical and charming seaside resorts with its glorious sandy beach and picturesque fishing port. The Pyrenees with it beautiful mountain scenery and wildlife is just a short drive away. The most local peak, La Rhune, can be scaled with the help of an old mountain railway, offering views at the summit to take your breath away. The city of Pau is an important centre for skiing and is about an hours drive away.

Weather: Under the ocean influence but also thanks to the warm local currents, winters are mild and the summer heat perfectly bearable. The sea winds with their summer freshness and winter mildness easily dominate the continental winds. The coastal fringe benefits from good overall sunshine, and the highest temperature readings in France are often recorded in the Anglet /Biarritz region.

My husband and I stayed here for 2 weeks.The location was perfect. The apartment was very comfortable and had all mod cons. It was the ideal location for all activities,such as, shopping in Bayonne, Biarritz or travelling to Spain.It was a great place for walks or the beach.Very suitable for all age groups.We would stay here again.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Adventure Seekers, Girls Getaway, Tourists without a Car, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, People with Disabilities, Romantic Getaway
