Situated on the coast at La Chaume, Les Sables d'Olonne, which enjoys above average sunshine, these quality 2nd floor apartments with adjacent lifts have panoramic views of the sea in this popular very French seaside resort, with fishing port and 1,000 berth Yachting Marina (home of the Vendee Globe). The 3km long golden sandy beach is perfect for safe swimming, sailing and surfing. Enjoy fishing or exploring the rock pools on the coast opposite the apartments where there are small sandy secluded coves in which to sunbathe. Good shops, a supermarket, an open-market and excellent sea food restaurants are all within walking distance. In July and August the main Promenade in front of the sea is closed to traffic in the evening; and filled with entertainers including jazz bands, singing groups, artists and acrobats. Attractions further afield include the historic Loire Valley, vineyards (local and Loire) where you can enjoy wine tasting/purchasing; also Puy de Fou and Futuroscope.

This beautiful apartment is decorated in blue and white to compliment the panoramic view of the Atlantic Ocean. Double sliding balcony doors allow one to sit up in bed and enjoy this view. The furnished balcony with table and 4 cushioned chairs is an ideal place for that alfresco meal. There are 2 cushioned loungers for sunbathing, reading or just resting. There is a separate excellent modern kitchen with plenty of utensils, and louvred doors over a breakfast bar with a sea view and stools for 4 persons.The dining area in the sitting room has an oak dining table with 4 matching chairs. The bedroom has been newly carpeted; all other areas have attractive tiled floors. The apartment has a permanently running air circulation system (not air conditioning) that keeps the kitchen, bathroom and toilet fresh. Visitors can enjoy the heated swimming pool and children's paddling pool in the landscaped garden. There are changing rooms and showers, and safety fencing around the pools.

There is something magical about Les Sables (Vendee Globe Village opens 18.10.08): those luminous bright sunny days when large numbers of visitors stroll along the Promenade & enjoy the sea-front cafes, bars & restaurants; a multitude of colourful tents on the 3km long golden sandy beach with families & groups enjoying safe swimming, sunbathing and games; bakers with large trays shouting above it all to sell their wares; sailing boats, water-skiers & windsurfers enjoying the large bay & open sea beyond; fishing and small cargo boats entering & leaving the attractive harbour with a quayside lined with bars, & excellent restaurants (mainly sea-food); on days of high winds & rough seas large numbers of surf and body-boarders test their skills against the elements attracting many spectators. Les Sables inland is a busy interesting town with attractive pedestrianised shopping areas offering a wide range of goods and services to suit all tastes whether you are a resident or on holiday.

When you arrive to check in at our Agents Office, Agence Port Immobilier in La Chaume, Les Sables d'Olonne, you will be asked to leave a Security Deposit of £200 by cheque payable to RS and NR Aspinwall. This is normally returned when you hand back the key to the Agents on the day of departure.

Just perfect

Another year, another great holiday in Les Sables and another ultra relaxing time in a great apartment.
The view is so good that you just want to sit on the balcony and watch the world go by. A good book, a glass of wine ... what else could you ask, this is what holidays are for.
The weather was superb and the town seemed to be busier than ever. We ate out less than in previous years (strong euro, weak pound this year!) but this did not diminish our enjoyment.
We have already booked for next year and strongly recommend you try the life on this part of the West coast of France.
The apartments (we have stayed in both) are ideally placed. The stroll into town is not taxing and the places to visit are an easy car journey away ... traffic is generally OK at this time of year.
The journy from Caen or Cherbourg is only about 280 miles and the roads/motorway network are very good.
All who visit are most complimentary, and it's not difficult to understand why.
Owner's Response: Once again we are more than delighted that the magic of Les Sables d'Olonne is rubbing off on this year's visitors in particular . We too wish to draw attention to how vibrant this busy West Coast of France seaside town really is , with not only much to interest all , but significant plans either already in hand or under consideration that are and will make Les Sables even more special . The nesessary works are being carefully planned so as not to disrupt the main holiday periods .
Communications to and from Les Sables by both road and now rail - TGV from Paris no less - are exceptional .
Additionally , greater emphasis is being given to enhanced facilities for both pedestrians and cyclists which is very forward looking .
We remain as enthusiastic as ever about Les Sables ; we have been regular visitors there ourselves for some 30 years . What more can we say .

Excellent Apartment and Location

Caraibes is a spacious, clean, well equipped apartment in an excellent location with large swimming pool and great views. We have stayed there twice now and have already booked for next year. Underground secure parking is a bonus! The sea is minutes away and shops and restaurants are within walking distance. The perfect place to relax. We love it!

Arrived home after having had the most perfect holiday yet! Apartment was 100% perfect, very clean and comfortable, totally secure with underground garage, wished we had taken the bikes! The area is 100% perfect for whatever your interests, perfect for families, our children loved it, especially the beach, just 5 minutes drive away.
Very reluctant to write this review as we would like to keep this perfect place a secret.
Re-booked for next year.

Fantastic Les Sables

This was our second holiday in Les Sables (we were in Corail last year and Caraibes this year) and we had another fabulous time.
The apartment is very comfortable and has fabulous views. Sitting on the balcony and watching the world go by with a glass of wine in your hand is hard to beat!. The sun blinds are a welcome addition, giving relief from the sun once it moves round the sky just after midday.
The apartment is very well equipped and is a superb base for a holiday in what we have come to regard as one of the most beautiful areas of France (we can't wait to return next year and have booked already!).
The seafood is fantastic and there are so many first class restaurants to choose from both in La Chaume and across the water (by water taxi) in Les Sables.
There are great beaches and many places of interest worth visiting (there are pamphlets in the drawer telling you what is on offer).... explore the area by getting off the beaten track and discovering the flour mills and gardens of the Vendee.
The information pack tells you all you need to know and the local agent is extremely helpful.
We have been to various parts of France but think that Les Sables is a fantastic place to relax.
We just love it ... you will too.

great apartment in a quiet location with a beautiful pool.Great beach a short drive away.Lots of restaurants within 15 minutes walk.Private parking garage under apartmnet with lift access.Essential in Les SAbles in busy periods .Will go again
