Lovely single storey gite, decorated in sunshine colours. Two bedrooms, one double, one twin plus sofa bed in living area. Our self-catering gite also has an equiped kitchen, two toilets, bathroom with jet shower. Heating and woodburning stove for a cosy winter break. Enjoy a relaxing glass of local pineau in the garden. Self catering couldn't be easier with all the shops at walking distance. Ideally located at 5 minutes walk to sandy beaches, Meschers town centre, supermarket, daily fresh produce market - fresh fish for the bbq, mussels or local Charentaise melons or cheeses. Don't want to cook? Over 20 restaurants/cafes/bars and takeaways are within easy walking distance - seafood specialities, pizzas, a cold beer at a street side cafe, oysters at the port, or live music at the beach restaurant whilst the children play on the beach. Enjoy a romantic sunset stroll or the lively night market. Meschers has something for everyone - even teenage guests have been impressed!

Rose Tremiere is situated at Meschers. Easy walking distance to the seaside and beautiful sandy beaches of the Atlantic coast. At the beach you can go swimming in the sea, make sand castles, sunbathing, rock pooling. Near Royan, Meschers' pretty town centre has everything for a self-catering holiday - supermarkets, daily market, boulangeries, banks, shops, numerous restaurants, bars and cafes (over 20 within a 20 minutes walking radius), wine tastings, pleasure port, boat rides, fishing, sailing or take a walk in the pine forests. Leave the car at the house, there is plenty to do on foot or using local buses. Surfing, horse riding, tree adventure park, vineyard visits and more beaches are all a short drive away. The interesting town of Royan is a 10 minute drive (train station). The zoo at La Palmyre, golf and 'la cote savage' (wild coast) are within half an hour's drive. Easy days out to chic La Rochelle, Cognac distilleries Romanesque Saintes, Bordeaux vineyards or Venise Verte.

  • The bathroom has a corner jet massage shower, hand basin and toilet. There is a second, separate toilet. Ample hot water with the boiler left on permanently and a second boiler for the kitchen. Towels can be hired for £6 per set of 3 - one hand, one beach, one bath.

  • Rose Tremire is a single storey building (an ancient stables). Both bedrooms have wooden floors. The double bed rooms is decorated is warm lavender colours. There is an antique painted bed, and large wooden wardrobe with drawers incorporated. There is room in this room for a cot (provided on request). There is heating for winter. The twin room has two antique painted beds, chest of drawers, and wooden wardrobe. Duvets, pillows and pillow cases are included in the rental price. Linen can be hired for £5 per double bed and £4 per single or cot.

There is a shady tree in the garden, with loungers/sunchairs, large garden table, outside chairs with cushions and bbq. The patio has a walking right of passage for the one flat. This is obviously no different to many gites, as it is only a walking right of passage, but we feel it is better to mention it. They have their own garden, as do you. The patio can also be used to sit on as it is quite wide. Lots of local interest brochures and maps at the house. Tourist information office is 5 minutes walk. If there are any special activities you want to know about, please contact me in advance I will try my best to find out for you. What a wonderful place!! The cottage was very clean and tidy, with a well equipped kitchen and a heavenly shower. Situated about 5 minutes from the town centre and the beach - placement couldn't be better. The area is beautiful and there is lots to see and do. Shelley met us there with the key and showed us everything we needed to know for the week. She was ever so friendly and helpful. We would stay there again in a heartbeat and would certainly encourage our friends to stay!

A little piece of paradise!

We have just returned from a month in Rose Tremiere and enjoyed every minute! Communications are great with the owners, Shelley & Carl who have taken time to make sure your every need is at hand, you'll want for nothing here. Set in a lovely French coastal village, you have the best of both worlds, sea, villages & countryside to explore. It is in a peaceful situation with the great advantage of having a garden to relax in. Life's needs are within walking distance, supermarket, a daily market for fresh produce, bakeries, butchers, fish & shellfish. The lamb from Meschers is out of this world & the pork cuts like butter! All washed down with the local wine from the Cave, what more could you want! Many good & reasonable restaurants are within walking distance, although in September there were some that close on certain days, but there was always somewhere open to eat, with good food & nice people.
You will not regret booking this accommodation. It is a 'little piece of paradise' tucked away in France. On second thoughts, maybe we should keep the secret to ourselves!!!!

What a lovely bungalow! Ideally situated within Meschers as it is very close to the supermarket, bakery and morning fruit market but also to the beach. There are two beaches and the second one has lifeguards and feels very safe for swimming. It is also very clean and has lovely fine sand. The "grottes" are very interesting and well worth a visit.
The bungalow offers everything you require for a holiday: a well equipped kitchen, nice shower, a good bed to sleep in and a table and chairs for breakfast in the garden! It is very clean and we were warmly greated by the owner on arrival.
Having got access to a garage meant we could leave all the beach stuff in there and out of the way.
We thought it was great to have mainly French tourists in the resort as it felt very French.
The area offers lots to see and the Atlantic coast isn't very far if you want to experience the big waves. There are great cycle paths between Royan and Ronce-les-Bains and we particularly liked the beach at La Palmyre and by the lighthouse for a change. We also enjoyed the Zoo in La Palmyre.

We had a terrific holiday in Meschers. The location of the gite was excellent, a mere 5 minutes walk to Super U, the main street and the incredible daily markets with the most delicious fish and fruit and the wonderful night market on Wednesdays.The "moules" are a must and can be bought ready to cook saving all the preparation. The beach is a 10 minute walk away and fabulous for sunbathing but be warned...you must swim only in the area between the 2 blue flags as there are strong currents here. The friendly lifeguards will keep a close eye so no worries. Talmont and Royan are well worth a visit and the restaurants by the port offer excellent value and absolutely delicious food. We particularly liked "La Caravelle" where a 3 course meal was on offer for 18 euro!
The gite itself wsa well equipped and exactly as described on the website. There is a fabulous garden with a table, chairs and 2 great sunloungers! The owners, Shelley and Carl were extremely helpful in every way and we would love to return in the future.

Rose Tremiere was everything we looked for this summer. Well-maintained and equipped cottage with a nice garden, in a quiet seaside town.

The cottage is within walking distance from supermarket, butcher, baker and a nice market. Also close to nice beach which was perfect for our children.

You can stay in Mechers all week and just relax, but there's lots to do in the area.

Very helpful owner made us feel really welcome. We would easily recommend Rose Tremiere to our friends.
