St Jean de Monts is on the Atlantic coast. It is 40 mins from Nantes airport (new links with the east midlands airport and with Shannon in Ireland) and 2 hrs from la Rochelle. St Malo is 3 hrs, Caen is 4 hrs, and Cherbourg and Roscoff are 5 hrs drive from their ports. The euro tunnel is 6hrs. From the DORNIER camp site, there is direct access by a small path through the dunes to the beach, only 200m away. The water is judged by European standards to be clean and safe and the beach shelves gently ideal for children. There is also a heated pool on site with toddlers pool at one end. There is mini golf and a multisport and a FREE bouncy castle as well as outdoor games for the little ones. At the ZAGARELLA campsite there is a superb pool complex with indoor pool, free jacuzzi and 3 great water slides. The friendly, modern bar and snack bar/takeaway is situated right next to the pool, where there is a trampoline and bouncy castle all free for the kids. St Jean de Monts is a busy tourist resort labeled a 'kid station' with lots of activities for the young and old including an 18 hole golf course. Cycle tracks and footpaths in local forest leave from the campsite gate Superb cycling paths, bring your own bikes or hire when you get here.

Local Activities There are lots of fun things to try in St Jean de Monts. Take the opportunity of group reductions and English translation or individually and take advantage of this activity filled area to try sand yachting, canoeing in the marais, go-karting, horse trekking in the forest, rollerblading on the seafront or mountain biking in the pine forest trails.There is also the 18 hole championship golf course set in between the forest and beach. Tennis, mini-golf, quad-biking, kite flying and tree adventure parks in the forest.There really is something for everyone at St Jean. Not forgetting wine tasting, oyster tasting, eels and frogs legs, foie gras and the chicken and duck from challans. the vendee has its own gastromony to tempt you. there are lots of different restaurants to choose from with various prices and menus. the avenue de la mer in the evening to sit and have a glass of wine and watch the world walk by.... come and discover st jean de monts this year.

The mobiles are in a good location at Le Dornier in a quiet corner of the site, 5 minutes walk from the beach. They are well equipped with a useful outdoor deck. The beds are not the most comfortable!
The site has a good children's play area and nice, but unheated, pool. The children's club was not offered during our stay which was a little disappointing.
Lovely wide sandy beach - perfect for children as the sea is warm and safe.
Owner's Response: the mobiles are only 2 years old at the dornier and the beds have sprung mattresses typical of a mobile home so thats the comfort zone of a mobile home holiday.childrens club is on 4 x a week for 2 hrs a day. will speak to my staff about that.
the pool is heated but is not covered so it gets colder each night and warms up again in the day

We stayed in August 2008 at Le Dornier. We are a family of five with three young children. An absolutely fantastic area lots of sight seeing and fun things to do. We visited Nantes, La Rochelle and many more places. There is literally so much to do and see and the activities within the park are more than adequate. Will undoubtedly be back soooooooooon!!

5 stars isn't enough to rate Linda's holiday homes! We all loved the home, which was superbly equiped & the private decking was just perfect. The homes are laid out in a lovely cul de sac & the site is well kept, large enough to entertain our 13 yr old but small enough to feel secluded. There is always plenty to do in St Jean de Monts. I'm sure we will be back & have recommended Linda's homes to all our friends. Thanks Linda - I hope we meet again!

Unbeatable location and price

Our third holiday at Le Dornier in three years, and it just gives us all we could wish for in a family holiday. The mobile homes are more comfortable and better laid out than others we've stayed in (in the South of France and Tuscany) when we booked with big holiday companies before we found VLV. Linda provides all you'd expect of the big name companies with a professional but friendly touch and at a much lower price. The covered terraces double your living area, and the hedges and trees give you space and privacy from the other mobiles.

We have always found our mobile to be spotless and well equipped, and the boys would spend all day every day in the pool if we let them!

We have fallen in love with the Vendee (only 3 hours' from St Malo) and there's plenty to do literally on your doorstep. We always take 3 bikes and hire one from the campsite to take advantage of the fantastic cycle paths from right outside the site. Deer have been known to cross the path right in front of us. We all enjoy the beautiful walks from the mobile homes through the pine forests and along the unspoilt beach. The boys also love exploring the sand dunes, spotting lizards, bunnies and the frogs singing in the pond in the middle of the dunes.

There's also lots to do a short drive away in St Jean de Monts and further afield - this year we visited Nantes by train from Challans and also the Velo-Rail at Commequiers. Noirmoutier and Le Gois are a must-see and there are some beautiful beaches for rock-pooling on Noirmoutier and at Bretignolles.

We have recommended VLV and Le Dornier to all our friends and every year when we say 'Shall we try somewhere new?' we end up coming back to it. We haven't found anywhere else that offers a similar beautiful location and standard of accommodation at such a great price.

a lovely site, very natural, very close to the beach. Mobiles were clean and comfortable. Fantastic decking area, covered so even when it rains it is possible to sit outside. Rep was very friendly and always willing to help, kids throughly enjoyed the kids club.
A negative although nothing to with the holiday itself, the owner of the mobiles shouted at the rep in front of the mobiles where i was witness to this as im sure were others, i found this extremely unprofessional and uncomfortable
However had a great time, St jeans is a lovely town and the market was fantastic.
