'Le Mazot', provides studio accommodation for 2 to 4 people. The building has been recently refurbished and is now a cosy, alpine style modern retreat. It has a living area with sofa bed and a table that seats 4. The kitchen area is well equipped with a full sized oven and fridge, and 2 hob rings. There is a mezzanine bed which gives you the opportunity of not having to use the sofa bed, and a shower room. There is a combined TV & Video plus a DVD player. There is ample storage space for in cupboards and wardrobes, and space for equipment is available in a separate building. There is also a small sunny balcony from where you can enjoy the mountain view. We are located down a private drive and there is ample parking right outside. Le Mazot is in a great location in a quiet residential area, but only 5 minutes walk to Chamonix's shops bars and restaurants. We are very close to the bus stop for Chamonix's new 'Mulet' free shuttle bus service, and 5 minutes walk to the train station.

Chamonix is the ultimate mountain playground. Only 60 miles from Geneva's busy international airport and accessible by motorway almost to the town's centre, Chamonix has embraced tourists and visitors for over 200 years. Mountain sports took over as the town's raison d'etre in the 19th Century but it also draws artists and lovers of grand scenery. Unusually, Chamonix is a busy resort both summer and winter, December to April, winter sports dominate; June to September, it's walking, climbing and more recently mountain biking and parapenting that are the draw. Out of season, Chamonix can provide those who like the quiet life with the ideal balance of interest and peace. Le Mazot is in a quiet residential area right in the centre of Chamonix. It is a perfect place to stay if you are looking for a little peace and quiet whilst being able to stroll to the town centre for a mooch around the shops and bars of Chamonix.

  • There is a large drive outside so car parking is easy. You may use our garage to store skis, bike, large suitcases etc. The studio is ideal for 2 people, either a couple having the choice of the mezzanine or sofa bed, or 2 friends sleeping one upstairs and one down. We have had plenty of groups of 4 enjoy their stay in the Mazot, but it is cosy for 4 adults. We can provide a travel cot and high chair if required.

Chamonix in summer

Really nice mazot, practicaly in the center of Chamonix (4 min walk). We had everything we needed. The owners even stocked the place with books and video tapes for a rainy day. Left overs of detergent, oil and such like was very kind.
May not be suitable for small children or older people as sleeping platform is quite a challenge.

We had a brilliant skiing holiday in the Mazot in Jan 2009.

Although small, 'the mazot' is perfectly formed. We were so surprised at the amount of storage space it has, even for the heftiest amount of ski equipment. There are lots of quirky space savers such as a fold down dining table and the stairs cleverly double up as shelving. There are all the utensils you need for a self catering holiday as well. It even has a lemon squeezer if my memory serves me correctly.

The shower is good (which is essential after a hard days skiing) and the bed is v comfy. Although in true french style - watch your head on the mezzanine ceiling!

The location was quiet but it's only a 5-10 minute amble to the centre of Chamonix. The owners are lovely and gave us loads of good advice over the best pubs, restaurants and ski slopes.

Overall we had a great hol, and would def recommend to others.

FANTASTIC HOSPITALITY IN SUPERB SETTING

The best possible hosts you could ask for in Chamonix without the price tag. Excellent accommodation which was spotlessly clean, very comfortable and perfect for either a romantic get-away in the gorgeous summer months with all that Chamonix has to offer, or the perfect alternative to sharing a chalet with a large group in ski season. Chamonix is a wonderful place all year round - we have stayed here both in the summer and the winter. Far better choice than a hotel, as it's self-contained, private, peaceful and the owners know everything you could possibly need to know about the local area. Highly recommended and we go back every year!

A lovely stay in Chamonix

We visited Chamonix for a snowboarding holiday and Le Mazot ticked all of our boxes, it was near the town centre and within easy reach of the lifts, bus stop just down the road where the free buses run from and a lovely cosy chalet to come back to after a hard day on the slopes! The owners have recently fitted underfloor heating which meant it maintained a lovely warm temperature. Very helpful owners and i would definately recommend this property to a friend.
