Set on the hillside of Les Contamines with stunning views over Mont Jolie, the village and ski area, the chalet is furnished in a luxurious, contemporary style. This light, spacious chalet is only 15 minutes walk from the village centre but is in a peaceful setting. With emphasis on comfort and relaxation, the chalet boasts extremely comfortable beds and sofas, and a plentiful supply of hot water for the bath and powerful showers. It was built in 2003 and has been completed to a high specification and furnished with good quality equipment; there are 2 large TV/DVDs (with videos and DVDs available), dishwasher, oven, microwave, washing machine and separate dryer.

Skiing

Les Contamines offers uncrowded, snow-sure pistes from January to mid-April. There is 120km of pistes, 31 ski lifts, 2 snow parks, 3 nursery slopes and fabulous off-piste terrain - it really does cater for all abilities. There is an excellent ski school with English speaking instructors and a wonderful nursery for 1 to 7 year-olds. If you are feeling in need of even more variety then the challenging runs of Chamonix are only 40 minutes away and, closer still, Megeve is accessed via St Gervais telecabine which is just 15 minutes drive from the chalet.

Summer Activities

Les Contamines is an excellent base for hiking, mountain biking, rock climbing, canoeing. It is on the famous GR5 Mont Blanc Circuit walk and in addition there are over 120km of well sign-posted local walks for all abilities. The Pontet leisure park has a small lake with pedaloes, mini-golf, championship tennis courts and coaching, golf driving range, rock-climbing, kids' playground, archery and a fabulous aerial walk/runway through the trees. You can also hire donkeys to carry packs/children on walks - highly recommended by our three children! In high season the telecabines run up to a lovely restaurant adjacent to a lake and 2 kids' parks - a great starting point for walks or bike rides (mountain-bikes and guides can be hired in the village). In the neighbouring town of St Gervais there is a nice outdoor heated swimming pool. 25 minutes away in Megeve there is indoor ice skating, swimming pool and slides and a wonderful downhill luge.
