Valhoven is surrounded by vineyards on three sides, and woods and fields on the other. It is set on a country lane that leads to the nearest house 400 meters away, a dead end, no traffic and very quiet. Part of the house is 200 years old, and another 100 years old. It has recently been completely renovated and is fully furnished. It is set in approximately 6.000m2 of lawn which are completely fenced in and has a flood-lit pool (14 times 5 meters, 2 meters deep at the deep end). For the safety of children, the pool area is fenced off. There is a large terrace facing west leading to the kitchen with garden furniture and parasol, and well tended garden with many large trees with plenty of shade, overlooking the Gironde in the distance. The house is about 25 minutes walk through the vineyards to the village with a baker, shop, cafe, paper/tobacco shop, hairdresser, butcher, horse riding en tennis. The house is set in vineyards & rolling hills with plenty of excellent walking possibilities.

The house is set within view of the Gironde in rolling hills, vineyards, fields and woods. It is about 85 km from Bordeaux, 45 km from Cognac, 45 km from Royan, and 30 km from Blaye. There are many old and beautiful Roman churches in the neighborhood. Talmont with its old church jutting into the Gironde is particularly beautiful and only 25 km away. The Gironde estuary is very near and offers long cycling possibilities. The surrounding areas offer endless possibilities for long walks. The walk to the village of St Thomas e Conac is 25 minutes through the vineyards. St Thomas has a baker, butcher, shop, hairdresser, tobacconist, cafe/bar, old church, and tennis and horse riding. The Gironde can be crossed by ferry at Blaye giving access to the Medoc region with some of the finest wine chateaux of France. The picturesque fishing and sailing villages of Maubert and Mortagne sur Gironde are only 15 minutes away by car.
