A Manor House and cottage both furnished to a very high standard and set in 7 acres of gardens, surrounded by vines and open countryside. Quiet and secluded but within easy reach of the village. The Bar area is a lovely building which used to be the bakery and has been converted into a bar with pool table for exclusive use by the guests of Les Agrilles. Ideal for use with the stone built barbeque. Les Agrilles is a beautiful Maison de Maitre, and a very comfortable family home. The spacious accommodation sleeps 20 in 5 double, 4 twin and one single bedroom. Five of the double rooms are ensuite as is the ground floor twin in the cottage. There is a further WC on the ground floor. Outside there is a delightful heated pool. Les Agrilles is an ideal location for a large family or a special event. We have held weddings, birthdays anniversaries at Le Agrilles. The properties are available individually apart from July & August.

Both furnished to a high standard make it an ideal location for a large family gathering or a special occasion. The lovely12 x 6 metre salt water pool is securely fenced for the safety of those that use it Les Agrilles sleeps up to 16 in spacious accommodation and along with The Cottage which sleeps a further 4 people in a double ensuite and a twin ensuite makes accommodation for 20 people. Both properties are fully equipped to a high standard and comfort 10Bedrooms, sleeps 20 people in lovely surroundings, close to Gironde Estuary. Parties are catered for; Les Agrilles is an ideal location for a special event.

The house is ideally situated for a relaxing holiday. Close to the Gironde estuary with its pretty ports and inviting restaurants. Port Maubert and its lovely restaurant by the river are only 4 kms away. The beaches of Merchers and St George de Didonne are only 20 minutes away. This beautiful house in the Charente Maritime is within easy reach of the A10 Paris/Bordeaux motorway. It is also one hour from Bordeaux and 1 ½ hours from La Rochelle International Airports. The port of St Malo is only about 4 ½ hour drive away. The Charente has the second highest number of sunshine hours in France ( after Cote d'Azur) with temperatures reaching the high 30's in July and August. Charente Maritime has a mild temperate climate thanks to the Gulf Stream, which embraces the coastline. With only a 15 minute ferry trip across the Gironde from Blaye you will find your self in the Medoc, where you can visit renowned Chateaux and savor the delicious world famous wines of the region.

  • The price is quoted in Euro's. Please ask for individual prices of each property. The prices quoted are for Les Agrilles only booking the cottage will incure a further charge od 550 éuros per week. The cottage only as an individual unit during the months of April May June September & October will be charged at 550Euros per week. We are more than happy to cater for special requirements (birthdays anniversaries weddings etc) please do not hesitate to ask.
    Les Agrilles and the Cottage can be booked as individual properties outside of July & August. During the months of July & August the cottage can only be booked with the main house, making the total property available to sleep 20 in comfort. Les Agrilles is big enough to seat 20 for meals.

Notes: The outside area consists of a garden of about 7 acres. The garden is mostly laid to lawn with planting of fruit trees and Christmas trees (though they are very small at the moment). There are rose beds and lavender in abundance. There are several sitting areas within the garden and areas for outdoor eating. There is the bar which houses the pool table and is a nice area to sit and take a drink there is the barbecue next to the bar. The fantastic pool, table tennis, boules etc. The house is ideally situated for a relaxing holiday. Close to the Gironde estuary with its pretty ports and inviting restaurants. We have just spent the most wonderful two weeks in this property with our friends. It was all the description says and more - the owners have really gone the extra mile to make the house a special, comfortable and beautiful home away from home. I loved the decor, the house is just amazing and it's very well kitted out - lovely big spacious kitchen, great cooker, loads of crockery, pots etc which of course is essential for a large group. Lovely, safe pool which is so important with a gang of kids and the grounds are just lovely. We have already recommended it to friends and hope to go back soon. And the owners are just lovely and very welcoming.. Can't fault it.

Wonderful property, excellent location & hosts

We rented this property to celebrate my 40th birthday and it couldn't have been any better.
The facilities are excellent, with a good size pool, large kitchen, outside bar-b-que dining area with a bar area in the property's old bakery, along with table tennis, boules and a even a football goal to keep you occupied.
There were 10 of us but this property could easily hold a lot more, with the number of bathrooms and bedrooms available.
The lovely owners Josette and Rod are on site but you would never know unless you need something, or some help or advice then they are only too pleased to help.
I would also highly recommend getting Josette to cook for you, we had a wonderful 4 course meal on my birthday and Josette and Rod made the place look amazing with bunting and even a birthday cake!
There is a large supermarket a short drive away, but the CO-OP and bakers in the village down the road (St Fort) is fine for essentials and wonderful fresh bread and pastries, it is also very pretty and has a nice little bar etc.
Local area is great for sight-seeing, we went to Bordeaux, Royan, Saint Emilion, Bayle and I would recommend all of them, but lots of other places worth seeing aswell.
Apart from that, at such a wonderful location, drinking great wine, eating too much wonderful food and watching the wonderful sunset from the bar-b-que area made me and everyone else very sad to leave!
Hoping to return as soon as possible!
