Photos and Description of this Saint-Jean-d'Angely area holiday cottage 3 newly renovated cottages, sleeping 6, 5 or 4

Three traditional farm cottages with private terraces and gardens and use of shared 10 x 5 metre swimming pool. The cottages are surrounded by fields of sunflowers and corn, but are within 20 minutes drive of the coast. Each cottage is fully equipped for year-round holidays. Marie-Clare sleeps 4 + baby in two bedrooms, with large family bathroom (bath & shower) and living/dining/kitchen. Rosalinde sleeps 6 + baby in 3 bedrooms, with bathroom and shower room and large living/dining/kitchen. Janine sleeps 5 + baby in two bedrooms, with large family bathroom (bath and shower) and living/dining/kitchen. All 3 cottages can be booked together for family reunions, or a holiday for friends. Total capacity 17 people.

Local attractions: Within one hour you can enjoy the attractions of over 60 beaches on the coast between La Rochelle and Royan. Other attractions within one hour include La Rochelle, Saintes, Rochefort, Cognac, Poitiers, Niort, Royan. The Marais Poitevin (Venise Vert) is within easy reach and provides a wonderful contrast to a day at the seaside. For water-sports enthusiasts, you can enjoy sailing, wind-surfing, kite-surfing and land-yachting on the coast nearby. You can also enjoy fishing and boating on the Rivers Boutonne and Charente and the local lakes. This is a good area for cycling, and bicycles can be hired nearby. 3 Golf courses within 40 minutes. Futuroscope theme park just over 1 hour away. Puy du Fou just under 2 hours.

Organic Lifestyle: Guests can enjoy free-range eggs from our hens, ducks, quail and geese and organic vegetables and fruit grown on site (according to the season). Each cottage garden has its own cherry tree, strawberry plants and herb garden.

Life on the farm: The children (and adults!) can help collect the eggs, pick the fruit and vegetables and look after the pet pot-bellied pig!

Wonderful gites in beautiful setting

This is an absolutely superb property and wonderful for young children, with lovely gardens and play area - which you can see from your cottage. The hosts are charming and the cottages have been renovated to a very high standard. They include everything you could ask for, with individual sun loungers and a swing hammock outside - and indoors a proper cot (not travel cot) and even a step to reach the wash basin for our three year old. The swimming pool is great, only a stone's throw from your door. The location is idyllic and the only noises to be heard are the chickens and the odd tractor rumbling past.
Once you have been to the supermarket for food you can easily stay at your property and relax all week, however there are plenty of places to visit nearby. Ile d'Oleron has beautiful beaches but Fouras is much nearer and perfect for a day on the beach.
Recommended for:  Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children
Owner's Response: As you can see from this review, we have tried to provide everything for a great family holiday, carefully catering to the needs of the little ones as well as Mum & Dad. We can provide cot, pushchair, car seat, high chair and changing mat to reduce the amount of baby equipment you have to bring with you. Sally's family included a 4 month old baby, so it was obviously very important to them that the baby equipment was good quality.For the older children there are swings, slide and climbing frame plus all the animals to feed and eggs to collect.
We enjoy seeing our little visitors having a lovely time and parents able to relax and enjoy their holiday as well.
