Charming country property in the heart of the Loire Valley
Located within nearly 1 hectare of gardens are the 19th century stone buildings, La Pairiere and Trespassers W. Each beautifully renovated to include today's modern luxuries, but conserving their old world charm. The buildings sit close together on the site, yet careful planning ans orientation gives them their own sense of individual privacy. Spend the long summer evenings enjoying a glass of wine in the cobbled and stoned courtyards, take bike rides along the Mayenne stopping to re-fuel on the wonderful crepes in Grez Neuville or simply take time to relax in the tranquil surrounds of the property taking in some of the most beautiful scenery the French countryside has to offer.
Details for Trespassers W in Maine-et-Loire, France
Trespassers W is an early 19th Century stone farm building, renovated in 2001 as a private retreat close to, but well separated from, the main house. A cobbled courtyard, looking across farm fields to a small château, is the focus of life in the warmer months. French doors connect it to the open plan living area, where you can enjoy a roaring fire in the cooler months. Trespassers W is nestled in the grounds of a large garden where you can just sit back and relax, enjoy a BBQ and let children enjoy the open spaces. Being on a working farm (but far enough away for you not to be disturbed by farm noise), you will be able to enjoy watching the harvesting, during the summer months, and observe the cattle grazing in the fields.

Further details for Trespassers W in Maine-et-Loire, France
La Pairiere and Trespassers W are located in the broad valley of the Mayenne River, shortly before it flows into the Loire. It is the area the French call 'la douce France.' The nearby countryside rolls gently from forested slopes dotted with châteaux to fields ablaze in season with sunflower, rapeseed and grains; from rich riverside pastures and the occasional orchard to quaint villages roofed in the region's distinguishing slate tiles.
A particular local delight is the riverside drive (or cycle or walk - the slopes are not daunting) along the picturesque routes des écluses, which connect the lock villages. One of our favourite meals out is here - simple crêpes and local cider on a river terrace at nearby Grez-Neuville, a lock village that also serves as a base for tourist boats, some of which are available for hire by the half-day and day. An array of local markets allows you to treat you taste buds to wonderful fresh produce, and there is no end to the list of places to visit, whether it be chateau, museums, medieval towns or even the mystical sounds of the gregorian monks chanting in the abbey at solesmes.
