3 cottages set in 2 acres of land with panoramic views. Faye d’Anjou is amid the vineyards of the Coteau du Layon area of the Loire valley. A 10 min walk from Moulin de la Placette takes you to the village centre with its patisserie/boulangerie, mini-market and bar. A larger supermarket can be found at Thouarce, a 5 min drive away. Nearby is Brissac-Quince with lovely chateau and grounds, restaurants, horse riding, bike hire, and golf. The towns of Angers, with fortified castle, wonderful tapestries and excellent shopping, is 30 min drive, and Saumur, famous for its chateau and the home of the Cadre Noir, a 35 min drive. 15-20 mins drive takes you to a number of locations on the Loire for sightseeing, boat trips, kayaking, river beaches and swimming. The sandy Atlantic beaches at La Baule and Sables d’Olonne are both about 2 hours away. Poitiers, with fascinating Futuroscope is a 90 minutes drive. The area is ideal for walkers, cyclists, artists and photographers.

The cottage is centrally heated, well furnished and equipped, it consists of : an open-plan living room with sofa and chairs, dining area with large table and 6 chairs, and a kitchen behind a bar divider. Bed 1: Double, en-suite bath with shower/WC, French windows to small terrace area. Bed 2: Twin beds, en-suite bath with shower/WC, Bed 3: twin beds, French windows to front. Separate WC.

Angers - Has a Chateau/Castle well worth a visit, it includes the renown Apocalypse Tapestry, 103 m long illustrating the last book of the Bible written by St John. Culturally, there are museums, a magnificent Cathedral, and guided walks around the Old Town. It has an abundance of restaurants and bars, and for those that like to mix both, the Cointreau Museum. Saumur - Beautiful town, on the River Loire. Superb Chateau. Home to the world famous Cadre Noir. A tank museum and a mushroom museum. Champigny houses, some set in the limestone caves along the river.

Also the Abbaye Royale at Fontevraud the burial place of Richard the Lionheart, Henry II, and Eleanor of Aquitaine.

Other places: Le Lion d’Angers – National Stud and racecourse. Doue La Fontaine – Zoo, Roses, and troglodyte village. Puy de Fou - Historical Theme Park. Les Cerqueux-sous-Passevant – Bisonland. St Georges/Loire - Le Jardin des Kangourous.

Warm, welcoming and well informed hosts together with a well-equipped pretty cottage made our holiday here a real pleasure. The property was spotlessly clean and well maintained, we relaxed in this beautiful setting.
