Since the eleventh century, the Château de Chanzé has stood on the banks of the river Layon. The Château's impressive character is preserved in its two-metre-thick walls, high ceilings, and seventeenth and eighteenth century antique furniture. it has ample living space, both inside and out, to be enjoyed by you and your guests. The farmhouse that formerly served the Chateau has been completely and lovingly restored as to retain its original rustic character. The 4 holiday cottages (gîtes), 4 suites and 1 double B&B present themselves as elegant and comfortable with their parquet and stone floors as well as exposed wooden beams. A breakfast buffet is served on either the terrace next to the heated outdoor pool or in the communal Dining Hall. Enjoy 'wellness' treatment, such as infra-red sauna, a jacuzzi and massage showers. The complex may be taken as a whole for up to 30 people for special celebrations, friend and family reunions or group wine tasting visits. 'Table d'hotes'

Having been meticulously restored, it offers all the modern comforts, while still retaining its original grandeur. The Château's impressive character is preserved in its two-metre-thick walls, high ceilings, and seventeenth and eighteenth century antique furniture. From the Château you can enjoy views over the river and surrounding countryside. The Château has ample living space, both inside and out, to be enjoyed by you and your guests. The banqueting hall is the showpiece of Chanzé boasting a five-metre-long oak dining table and the largest fireplace in the region. There is also a separate comfortable lounge with television and video, a library and a fully equipped kitchen for your convenience. Listening to music from the sound system or live on the grand piano in the hall is an unforgettable experience.

The Heated Swimming Pool (Mai - Sept.): The pool is placed in a lovely sunny spot by the meadow and the old stables. It is 14m x 6m with a 'Roman end' and is a friendly 2 m deep. A safety alarm is fitted in accordance with French regulations. There is a refreshing shower, and a spacious terrace equipped with sun loungers, parasols and chairs. The pool is carefully maintained on a daily basis to ensure the highest water quality. The pool is shared with other guests.

Leisure activities in the local area : zoo, trips to the coast (Nantes), horse riding, golf, tennis, hot-air balloon rides, boat trips on the Loire, boat trip nearby the chateau, bike tours …
