'Le Petit Saule' beautifully restored cottage on the edge of Village

Set on a quiet country lane just outside the small village of Vernantes, 12 miles from the chateau town of Saumur, this charming cottage is stylish and comfortable and combines traditional charm with luxury conveniences. It has been completely and lovingly renovated. The spacious kitchen is fully equipped with all modern conveniences to ensure your holiday is an enjoyable experience. Off the kitchen is a downstairs shower room, featuring a double shower unit and WC. The dining area has a farmhouse kitchen table which comfortably sits six. Lounge features a traditional-style tuffeau stone fireplace with woodburner, a comfortable three-piece suite (sofa converts into a comfortable double bed). There are all the modern entertainment facilities DVD, Sat TV, Stereo System with a selection of DVD's and CD's. There is also a selection of books in our library. Ideal for relaxing after a hard day wine tasting or chateau-hopping. Upstairs are two spacious bedrooms and a modern bathroom.

Vernantes has all the basics. You will find restaurants, bars, boulangerie, boucherie, pharmacies, post office and a supermarket just outside the village on the road to Vernoil. Saumur is approximately 15 minutes drive and offers spectacular river views, a magnificent chateau and many boutiques, restaurants, bars, theatres, and historic buildings. Saumur is the home of the National Riding School and French Calvalry (Cadre Noir) - demonstrations are held regularly throughout the Summer. The Loire is a great region for wine enthusiasts, being dotted with vineyards boasting some world renowned wines such as Vouvray, D'Anjou and some lesser known finds such a Bouvet. The region is steeped in history and provides many attractions with its museums, abbeys, medieval churches, cathedrals and troglodyte caves all close by. Ideally situated for visiting vineyards and chateaux. Poitiers and Futuroscope are only an hours drive to the south.
