Domaine-de-lavie is a beautiful Manoir set in 7 acres of gardens and flower filled courtyards. The former ancient farm buildings have been converted into 5 independent luxury properties of differing sizes, furnished and equipped to a very high standard. Four have their own private terrace or patio and the former coach house has a large private garden. There is a 14 metre x 8 metre pool with amazing views of the beautiful Bearnaise countryside beyond to the Pyrenees Mountains. There is plenty of room for sunbathing arond the pool with its large terrace or for just lazing or playing in the seven acres of parklike gardens. This is the perfect destination for individual couples to large family groups.

Park is the second largest of our five cottages renovated and furnished to a very high standard. It has a large 'L' shaped terrace with wonderful views over the grounds to one side and the swimming pool and surrounding countryside on the other. The Terrace is equipped with sun-loungers, table and chairs and a gas bbq. The cottage has two double bedrooms upstairs each with its own en-suite shower room. Downstairs there is a further double bedroom with twin beds and an en-suite bathroom. The kitchen is very well equipped with oven, hob, fridge, dishwasher, washing machine and microwave in fact everything you could possible need. The lounge area has comfortable sofa and chairs with TV, DVD and stereo. The cottage has a wood burning stove and electric central heating.

Domaine-de-lavie is located on the outskirts of the picturesque thermal spa town of Salies de Bearn which is midway between Biarritz and Pau and within an hour you can be on a golden beach, walking and enjoying the wonderful scenery in the Pyrenees mountains, visiting towns and villages in this unspoilt region of France or even in Spain which is only an hour away. San Sebastian should not be missed. There are many historic Chateaux in this lush green region, stunning rivers and beautiful golf courses. Reputed to be one of the best areas for golf courses in France. Wonderful course or salmon fishing in the beautiful rivers in season. Cheerful markets are held daily and in the Summer lively 'Fetes' are not to be missed! Salies de Bearn is an extremely attractive town famous for its wonderful hot salt water thermal spa where all kinds of beauty treatments can be enjoyed at very reasonable prices.

What to See and Do: There are numerous excellent golf courses in the area. Ski-ing is about an hour. Fishing, cycling, surfing at Biaritz and Atlantic coast can be reached in 35/40 minutes. San Sebastian in Spain is one hour away. Horse riding and walking in the mountains or around the gorgeous local area. There is so much to do and see within easy reach or maybe you would prefer to just relax by our beautiful pool and enjoy the peace and quiet! We open all year so why not come and enjoy a break 'away from it all' in early Spring or in the Autumn when the surrounding country side looks magnificent and everything is so very peaceful!

A Christmas or New Year Break?: Why not take a Christmas or New Year break in Park cottage (up to 6 people) with its pretty wood burning stove or for larger groups in Maison Lavie (up to 10) with its gorgeous open log fire and wonderful large living room? Both are perfect for a convivial Winter 'get-together' with friends or family. We are happy to help in any way we can to make your stay memorable. Its possible to reach the ski slopes for the odd day of activity or if you are feeling less energetic how about a visit to the famous Thermal Spa in Salies de Bearn with its soothing and healing natural hot salt waters? The beauty treatments are an absolute bargain. Perfect for large family gatherings away from it all! Treat yourself!

Large Parties: Although all our properties are completely self-contained and perfect for individual small parties of people they can be booked together for parties of up to 26 people, ideal for reunions with family or friends - but you will have to book early to be sure of getting all the properties!

Other Activities: surfing on Atlantic coast 35 mins, whitewater rafting, canoeing, tennis. Thermal Spa-beauty treatments

This was our third time of staying in Courtyard. Yet again we had a fantastic time. Mary and Roger could not do enough for us to make our stay comfortable and memorable.

Yet again, even thought the other cottages were occupied I still seem to have the pool to myself. It was heaven and very warm 27 degrees C. The views of the mountains are stunning, breathtaking when there is a thunderstorm over them.

The cottage could not be better equiped, with practually every kitchen/dining item provided. Mary also always leaves a welcome pack of milk,water,biscuits and a bottle of wine to get you started.

We cannot wait to get back there in September of this year. Not just to be there but also to see Mary, Roger Emma (the very old and friendly lab/collie cross), and pussy cat, who we are beginning to really call our friends and not just the provider of the cottage.

You could not have a better gite to stay anywhere else in France.

We highly recommend these lovely cottages for a relaxing and rejuvenating holiday.We have stayed in 3 of the cottages and have enjoyed each one of our visits.
Hosts Roger and Mary have tastefully decorated each cottage with charm and character.The cottages are very clean and well maintained and certainly complements the beautiful surroundings of the property.
We enjoyed the town of Sallies De Bearn along with its wonderful market day and quaint little shops.
The property is strategically located for visits Biaritz,Lourdes and Spain. We will definitely be returning for our annual visit.

An amazingly tranquil two weeks in the most heavenly setting. Our “home” and hosts left nothing to chance and everything is so wonderfully cared for as are the guests. Many, many thanks.
