Located in the village of Louzignac, La Maison des Grands Bambous is a beautiful 200 year old farmhouse offering self-catering holiday cottages, bed and breakfast with heated pool, large terrace with jacuzzi, spacious shaded bar and barbecue area all set in a large enclosed garden. This is an ideal place if you are seeking a relaxing holiday or house hunting. Set amongst vineyards and fields of sunflowers, we are ideally situated for visits to Cognac, Saintes, Angouleme, Royan, bordeaux and the airports of La Rochelle, Poitiers and Angouleme as well as many charming French market towns, churches and historic sites. We have three cottages, Oleander Cottage, Bamboo Grove and Bamboo Garden. Each cottage has been recently renovated to a very high standard to provide extremely comfortable and well-appointed accommodation. Bamboo Grove and Bamboo Garden can be rented together for a bigger group. Oleander has a ground floor bedroom. PRICES REDUCED TO HELP CREDIT CRUNC

Located at the rear of the property in the garden, overlooking a small courtyard and next to the pool and terrace. The property has its own private terrace and garden with garden furniture, barbecue facilities and private parking. The bedrooms are both located on the first floor. This property adjoins Bamboo Garden and can be joined for a larger group. Renovated to a high standard to provide comfortable and well-appointed accommodation with electric central heating. They comprise of two double en-suite bedrooms (1 double, 1 twin) with excellent mattresses, clock radio and hair dryer. The spacious open-plan living room is furnished to a superior standard, consisting of sofas, chairs, dining area and fully equipped kitchen with all cleaning products provided. Smoking only permitted in the garden.

Louzignac is a small village set amongst vineyards and sunflowers. Matha, ten minutes drive, is our nearest small town and boasts three supermarkets, several banks, a thrice weekly covered market and a range of shops to cater for most needs. The major cognac houses are in Cognac and Jarnac plus local distilleries and wineries for tasting and buying. The historic towns of Angouleme, St Jean d'Angely and Saintes, as well as many charming French market towns, churches and historic sites, are all a short drive. The beaches of Royan, Fouras and La Rochelle are about an hour away. Bordeaux (a World Heritage site) is a 90 minute drive and offers sophisticated shopping and famous vineyards. For the golfing enthusiast the area boasts 6 golf courses.

Bed and Breakfast available: Oleander Cottage can also provide two ensuite bedrooms for Bed and Breakfast guests as the ground floor bedroom has a separate entrance and can be separated from the other part of the cottage. These rooms are available at Euros 65 (Double) and Euros 55 (Twin) per room per night. There are also two guest bedrooms available in the house which have a bathroom and toilet for their exclusive use. These rooms are available at Euros 45 per room per night

Dinner available: Dinner is available if requested by 10 o'clock on the morning and includes aperitif, entree, plat du jour, fromage, dessert, tea or coffee and wine for euros 20 per person. Essentially french cooking, seasonal fresh fruit and vegetables is provided from the garden. Fresh fish, meat and other produce is sourced from local markets and suppliers. If you have any allergies, dietary requirements or dislikes, please state these on the Booking Form under 'Any special requirements'. Sugar, salt and fat are used sparingly but not at the expense of flavour or taste! MSG is never used.
