Situated in Entre Deux Mers region of Bordeaux, Domaine de Sours is set amongst 60 hectares of tended vines within gentle folds of forested hillsides. Enchanting simple but good taste prevails throughout the large well appointed cottage. With a large central hall, comfortable salon and dining room it is perfect for large families to entertain. Glass doors open onto a flagstone terrace overlooking meadows and a small lake surrounded by woodland. Perfect peace can be found in all seasons. A well equipped kitchen incorporates a friendly breakfast area. Bedrooms with newly refurbished luxury en-suite bathrooms are on both ground and first floor with an additional bed-sitting room for children. A saline filtrated pool (10x5m) is situated next to the cottage with a built in barbeque. The Chateau's prize winning wines are for sale and there are many excellent restaurants nearby. The medieval town of St. Emillion is nearby as are the towns of Creon and Libourne with their weekly markets.

Domaine de Sours is situated on the Chateau de Sours estate outside the hamlet of St Quentin de Baron 35km from the centre of Bordeaux. The chateau, originally an inn on the famous St. Jaques de Compestello pilgrimage route, now produces award winning wine from its 60 hectares of carefully tended vines. There is tennis, golf, horseriding and water skiing within 5km and the beach at Arcachon is an hours drive away. The market towns of Creon (8km) St. Emillion (15km) and Libourne with it's main line station (15km) are all nearby and the historic city of Bordeaux with it's international airport and main line station is a mere 30 minute drive away.

We spent our 2009 summer holidays in this cottage. It was the first time for us in Bordeaux area. The cottage is charming because is a real old 18th cent. cottage, renovating in the respect of architecture. to wake up every morning in the vineyards is just simply beautiful and unic. The location is very convenient because shops and place to see are close. Kids and us ! enjoyed the private swimming pool, surrended by generous fruits trees : figs trees, plum trees, apple trees. We shared our holidaysdiscovering the area : St Emilion, Bordeaux, famous vineyards, Cap Ferret.. and doing BBQ, making jams thanks of the fig trees, cycling, relaxing . It was our first time in this area and we had wonderful holidays with friends and family . Cottage of Chateau de Sours is a great place to relax and discover the area of Bordeaux, in a affordable and historic and peaceful place. Perfect for family holidays or/and tho share with band of friends . We strongly recommend it :) !
