Luxury Family House in the Charente Maritime with Swimming Pool

Tintern Maison is ideally situated to discover the wonders of the Charente Maritime. The house is an original Charenteise House which has been fully renovated to a high standard whilst maintaining its traditional features; it truly is a luxurious holiday home. There are 2 large double bedrooms, with king size beds and the master has an ensuite shower room, storage and cot bed. The third bedroom has 2 single beds and is located next to the family bathroom which is equipped with shower and bath. The large lounge has seating for 8 people, satellite TV, DVD, Playstation 1 and a log burning fire. The kitchen is equipped with all necessary appliances and the dining area has a large family table. French windows lead onto the large patio where there is a BBQ and seating. There is a 6.5 x 4.5 Mtr swimming pool with sunbathing decking around it, and a beach volleyball/badminton court as well as a boules pitch. All equipment for the outdoor activities are provided.

Situated just outside the village of Retaud and a short drive from the Romanesque town of Saintes, the house is ideally situated to explore the wonders of the Charente-Maritime. The area benefits from the second warmest climate in France which is ideal to either relax by the pool or explore the miles of golden sandy beaches of the Atlantic Coast, which include the award winning beaches of Royan and Saint Georges de Didonne, the nearest of which is only 25 minutes away. Alternatively, you can pursue one of the many activities available which include Golf, Horse riding, Walking or Cycling. The best wine areas are also within driving distance and these include Bordeaux, Medoc and St Emilion. Other places of interest include the oyster beds of the Marenne, the scenic islands of Re and Oleron, the historic ports of La Rochelle and Rochefort, and of course the famous Brandy distilleries of Cognac. For the children the Zoo at La Palmyre is a real treat.

The closest course is in Saintes, which is a delightful course set amid the landscape surrounding the City. The most direct route is to head for Royan and then follow the road to La Palmyre.
