Tintern Maison is ideally situated to discover the wonders of the Charente Maritime. This original Charenteise House has been fully renovated to a high standard whilst maintaining its traditional features; it truly is a luxurious holiday home. There are 2 large double bedrooms, with king size beds and the master has an ensuite shower room, storage and cot bed. The third bedroom, with 2 single beds, is located next to the family bathroom, equipped with shower and bath. The large lounge, with traditional log stove, has seating for 8 people, satellite TV, DVD and Playstation 1. The kitchen is equipped with all necessary appliances and the dining area has a large family table. French windows lead outside to the large patio with BBQ and dining table. In the garden beyond, there is a 6.5 x 4.5m swimming pool with sunbathing decking surround. If you are feeling active, we also provide volleyball, badminton, boules and table tennis . Lovely wooded walks are accessible right from the doorstep.

Situated just outside the village of Retaud and a short drive from the Romanesque town of Saintes, the house is ideally situated to explore the wonders of the Charente-Maritime. The area benefits from the second warmest climate in France which is ideal to either relax by the pool or explore the miles of golden sandy beaches of the Atlantic Coast, which include the award winning beaches of Royan and Saint Georges de Didonne, the nearest of which is only 25 minutes away. Alternatively, you can pursue one of the many activities available which include Golf, Horse riding, Walking or Cycling. The best wine areas are also within driving distance and these include Bordeaux, Medoc and St Emilion. Other places of interest include the oyster beds of the Marenne, the scenic islands of Re and Oleron, the historic ports of La Rochelle and Rochefort, and of course the famous Brandy distilleries of Cognac. For the children the Zoo at La Palmyre is a real treat.

The closest course is in Saintes, which is a delightful course set amid the landscape surrounding the City. Contact details are: Tél : 05.46.74.27.61 Fax : 05.46.92.12.25 The second course is situated in the municipality of Saint-Palais-sur-Mer, in the pine forest at Maine Gaudin. The most direct route is to head for Royan and then follow the road to La Palmyre. This really is a quite a stunning course set amid pine forests and undulating landscapes; it is a true test of golf.
