Jonzac area holiday house: Saint Palais de Phiolin

We stayed here in Summer 2007 and what else can I say. The property is spotlessly clean, perfect location so close to the sea, only a very short drive away, and set amidst the most amazing breathtakingly beautiful open countryside. The village of Saint Palais De Phiolin itself is stunning. It has the prettiest little church, definitely worth a look inside, and lots of activities going on in and around the area. The weather was faultless. Hot sunshine every day, and the facilities at the house were just perfect for our family of four, (parents and two children aged 16 and 10) in every way. The proprietors of the house lived next door during our stay, and they were the best hosts we have ever met on our many stays in various properties throughout France. Lovely lovely english people who moved to France several years ago, and hence seem to know a vast amount of information about the local area, (very useful), and nothing was too much trouble at all. Extremely helpful, friendly and I can wholeheartedly recommend both their properties for rental. We saw the inside of the property next door that they also rent out and it was beautiful too. Typically french and full of character. There is so much to do in the area that we never had the chance to be bored at all. The huge swimming pool in the huge garden at the back of the house with amazing views across open countryside is just amazing and we had many late evenings being entertained by the owners and their friends till the early hours over the most gorgeous local pineau wine/brandy. Overall an exceptionally friendly place, beautifully laid out and we will most definitely be going back again this year. It was blissfully perfect. Theres nothing else I can add really.
