Set within a large, walled, south-facing garden and restored to an exceptionally high standard to combine country charm with modern chic, the gites have exposed beams and original thick walls help keep them cool in summer. Throughout, you will find tasteful furnishings,traditional painted furniture, decorative items and soft furnishings. The hand painted kitchens have all you need - dishwasher, washing machine, large fridge/freezer ( a bottle of CHILLED CHAMPAGNE awaits you), electric cooker, hob, microwave etc. There is a dining area with dresser, table and chairs for 6 overlooking the garden. The sitting room has a large sofa and 2 armchairs, English Satellite TV, DVD and CD player,abundance of toys, books and on site playmates, our young children.Each gite has WIFI INTERNET CONNECTION. Both gites sleep 6 comfortably. Many of our guests choose to bring grandparents for the perfect family holiday. A full size cot, stair gates and plenty of baby equipment are available

Both of our gites sleep 6 comfortably, no bunks or sofa beds in sight! Upstairs you have superb views of the pool and gardens and neighbouring fields of sunflowers. We have provided a King size bed in the master bedrooms, a double for bedrooms 2 and twins for bedrooms 3. Children and babies are very well catered for. A cot, stair gates and plenty of baby/child equipment are at your disposal should you need it. There is a large modern family bathroom /WC upstairs and a shower room with WC downstairs, so there’s no need to queue! For winter or longer lets our gites are open all year round are heated throughout. And finally, what else do we offer? Hospitality in abundance, a home from home and a very warm welcome. We have been resident in France for 4 years and have lots of local knowledge to share. We can recommend plenty of restaurants from low key and casual to gourmet dining and will make reservations for you. Special rates for longer let.

Bar/Restaurant within a short walk. The local village offers all amenities including restaurant/bar and shops. St Jean d'Angely has a colourful twice weekly market selling fresh regional produce. It has pretty cobbled streets to stroll around with medieval timber framed buildings. The large Atlantys aquatic centre offers indoor swimming with water slide and baby pool or you can take a canoe or kayak at the lake. Beautiful beaches are under an hour away. Saintes offers plenty of culture for the beach weary with the opportunity of riverside lunches and boat trips. La Rochelle is unmissable for shopping, dining and visiting the state of the art Aquarium. There are several beautiful islands to see - ile de re being the smallest but very picture postcard. Oleron has a stunning beach set amongst the pine forests. Visit the Cognac distilleries and discover Eau de Vie - the water of life! The award winning zoo at Royan ranks high for child friendly days out.

Notes: The kitchen is extremely well equipped and includes modern stainless steel appliances by Ariston with an electric hob. The dishwasher is excellent quality (Bosch) as is the washing machine. There is a full size fridge/freezer. The adjacent dining area has a pine dresser displaying traditional French enamelware. We have plenty of baby/child equipment including highchair, booster seat, stair gates, full size cot, buggy with parasol etc. There is an ironing board and iron, plenty of books, videos and DVD’s as well as abundance of toys. There is even an iPod sound dock! The sitting room is spacious and comfortable with quality 3 piece suite. Both the bathroom and shower room are modern and stylish. Upstairs there is a choice of King size room, double room and twin beds in the third room. The private garden offers peace and quiet for relaxing on teak loungers surrounded by flowering shrubs. Brilliant Family Holiday

The property exceeded my expectations and the owners were extremely helpful and kind. Their children were a delight and made the holiday very memorable for my children aged 5 & 2.

There are some great things to see and do within a 45min drive we visited Cognac, La Rochelle & Il de re. There are some good markets locally and some really pretty villages to visit.

I would definintely recommend this gite to my friends.

Our Favourite Gite

The Pinhoe Noirs Pinhoe, Exeter

We will soon be setting off for our third fortnight at this gite, so you might guess that we rate it very highly. The gite is always spotless when we arrive and it has everything our three-generation party needs. The location is peaceful and safe for the little ones.
Nothing is too much trouble for the owners - they really make us feel welcome. They have a lovely sense of humour and good taste in furnishings and children (this means you, Lucy and Harry!).
You need a car, but there are any number of places to visit nearby. Our favourites: Loulay village, St Jean d'Angely, la Rochelle, Saintes (biggest street market we've ever seen). Officially pronounced cool by the kids: the little train in Coulon, the miniature boats in St Sauvignon, the zoo at la Foret de Chize and the beach at Chatelaillon-Plage. We haven't tried Mouton Village ("6 hectares and 23 varieties of sheep") yet.
We have recommended this gite to family and friends, it's just perfect.

Thank you Sue and Simon, and your delightful children, for your wonderful Gite, and your friendly hospitality. Your Gites are gorgeous! The facilities are perfect, just love the two bathrooms, made all the difference with 4 adults staying together!

All 4 of us highly recommend your Gites, and we had a splendid week. There is a lot to see in the area, all very charming. Coming back after a sunny and warm day (in February)! to a comfy cosy warm Gite was the best.

The attention to detail was something that struck us all. It was like home from home, nothing had been forgotten, and the beds were really comfortable.

There is no doubt at all that we shall be back!
