Moulin di Busca is a traditional Corsican olive mill with its own private swimming pool nestling just below an unspoilt hilltop village in north-western Corsica. It's mid-way between mountains and the sea, yet just 15 minutes' drive from lovely sandy beaches. The building is set in 2 acres of terraced land (with views to the sea), in a lush, green valley, and still has all its original milling equipment and rustic attraction. Being nearly 1000 feet above sea level, with thick stone walls, it's pleasantly cooler in summer than coastal villas. It's furnished mainly with antiques to provide airy, peaceful and atmospheric living accommodation - with a few contemporary, colourful touches.

Notes to the rental rates

• The mill is normally available only for certain weeks during July, August and September, so please check the availability chart to see if the weeks you want are free. Most available weeks are usually booked between December and January, so please book early for summer 2009
  
• Payment is by UK bank transfer (or Euros by arrangement - exchange rates as shown on holiday-rentals website on the day of booking). Rental refunds cannot be made, so please ensure your travel insurance covers this. You pay any bank charges, there is a rental deposit of 25% on booking, and the rental balance (plus refundable damage deposit of £200) is payable 8 weeks before arrival. We confirm all bookings and payments in writing, by post.
  
• Changeover day is on a Sunday. It is important to know that the property not available before 2.30 p.m. and must be vacated by 9.30 a.m. We ask all guests to leave the property in as good a condition as they found it. Please ask about any other conditions.

TRAVEL TO CORSICA:

Many routes are possible but it's best to arrive at Bastia (about 75 mins drive) or Calvi (45 mins). Easyjet now fly direct from Gatwick to Bastia. CHARTERFLIGHTS are direct from many UK airports on Sundays between April and October. Book through the internet at thomsonfly (0870 1900 737), xl (Tel. 0870 169 0169), holiday options (Tel. 0870 013 0450), charter flights (Tel. 0207 854 8434) or try cheap flights. Alternatively, LOW-COST SCHEDULED AIRLINES fly to Nice and Marseilles where you can fly to Bastia or Calvi on airfrance. PASSENGER AND CAR FERRIES operated by sncm.fr and corsica ferries.com arrive at L'Ile Rousse, Calvi and Bastia from France and Italy, some in under 3 hours. A CAR is essential and we suggest you book one before arrival which is not too big or too low (for narrow mountain roads) and air-conditioned. Most of the major hire companies operate from Bastia and Calvi airports and ports. Please contact us if you need more information - we're happy to help!

LOCAL FACILITIES:

Ville di Paraso is an unspoilt village with a small shop selling very basic supplies, a post office and a small bar/restaurant usually open during July and August. In other villages a few minutes away there are bars, restaurants and grocery shops. There are beach cafes at Lozari Bay (our nearest beach - 15 minutes' drive) and, of course, a wide range of facilities at L'Ile Rousse and Calvi. However, with the slower pace of life here, you can also enjoy feasting on excellent local produce at the Mill - including some excellent local wines!
