The old School house is a beautifully refurbished house set in the unspoilt village of Vauce with many attractions in the surrounding area to meet both families with children and adults alike. The accommodation is a totally 2 storey self-contained unit within the house with its own entrance and patio area. It has been refurbished to the highest standard retaining many of its original features, oak waxed beams, and original wood floors. The property has been furnished with traditional antique French furniture, while having all mod cons. The house has also an extensive library that will appeal to all ages, books ranging from Dickins to modern day reading. Why not wander down the orchard to collect your fresh eggs for breakfast, & after a had days shopping at the local markets, or sightseeing, enjoy a barbeque, glass wine or two in the secluded garden with a book and relax.

Vauce is situated on the northern edge of Mayenne bordering on to the Loire valley to the south, Normandy to the north, and Brittany to the west. The region has much to offer both families and friends with it's unspoilt breathtaking scenery-surrounding unspoilt villages and medieval architecture. The property is ideally situated as a central base for touring and sightseeing. The north and West coasts and Le Mans are easily accessible as day trips. There is also a train service from Laval which takes you directly to Disney Land Paris.

The apartment was beautifully furnished (typically french) and the welcome from the owners could not have been more friendly, but not over the top either! Very generous welcome pack was left which was totally unexpected. We didnt have good weather so were unable to enjoy the gardens but we are returning again (have already booked) so hope to next time. Apartment is perfect for a couple or for a couple with very young kids (2 max) if you are happy sharing the bedroom with the kids (although there is a further double bedroom and bathroom for hire). Would recommend without hesitation.
Recommended for:  Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway
