11th Popincourt/Bastille holiday house: paris city

My family stayed here over Christmas last year. I have rented quite a few holiday apartments and I have to say, this was probably the best place I have ever stayed. It is not an apartment, it is a house, an incredibly beautiful house. If you have a large group and want somewhere homely but unusual you will really like this place. It's as central as you could possibly get and has so much character, not to mention space! To find a house in the city centre of Paris is truly incredible and especially one in such a beautiful area. I would highly recommend this place, it was a wonderful place to stay at Christmas - I think it must be stunningly beautiful in the summer what with all the windows, there must be so much light. It's a very safe, secure property in a nice street, about a minute from a metro. It's extremely well equipped with all the kitchen things you could possibly need - we even cooked a Christmas dinner there (admittedly the oven is not big enough for a turkey, but we couldn't find one of those anyway!). Possibly not a place to stay with young children because the house is full of breakables and it has open staircases as well but my 83 year old grandmother coped with the layout very well! The owner is a lovely lady who was extremely helpful. If you're looking for a home away from home in Paris I don't think you could do much better than this!
