Formerly a pilgrims lodge. Very well renovated and beautifully furnished house. Ideal for family up to 6. Downstairs open plan seating / dining room and well equipped kitchen. Upstairs two double bedrooms and a shower room, further twin bedroom on the third floor. Small courtyard at the front. Small garden at the back with BBQ and garden furniture. Wood burning stove downstairs, electric radiators in bedrooms. All electricity, water and gas included in rent. Please contact me for my website address.

Sauveterre de Bearn is a medieval town well known as Pearl of Bearn region. It lies in the banks of the river Gave d'Oloron where swimming, white water rafting and fishing can be enjoyed. Lovely views of the Pyrenees on a clear day. Fantastic walks and drives can be enjoyed in the Pyrenees and Spain is only an hour away. The sandy beaches of the Atlantic coast are about 35km away. Well worth visiting is Biarritz and St. Jean-de-Luz with a very good selection of restaurants and shopping. Pau is also an interesting city with beautiful chateau and cathedral, variety of shops and restaurants. Easy access to the motorway allows quick transfer to Biarritz or Pau airports. The spa town of Salies de Bearn is only 10min drive away and offers good restaurants and shopping, casino and a weekly market. The spa baths are situated in the town centre and have excellent facilities. Golf and tennis are close by.

We have just had the most wonderful relaxing holiday in Sauveterre de Bearn. Not only was the weather wonderful but the house was perfect. It was everything it said in the ad, the location, layout etc. Very adequate for 6 although I would worry about the steep stairs to the attic bedroom if you had very young children. The house was extremely well maintained very clean and the housekeeper was very helpful with her instructions of how everything worked when we first arrived. The upstairs, private terrace was a wonderful suntrap perfect for lazy days reading.
I'd recommend taking a day trip rating with La Boste we had a fantastic time.
I would recommend the property to all my family and friends and would definitely stay here again when I return to the area.
