Getting there:
The quickest way of getting to Ogeu is by air from London Stansted to Pau. Ryanair have a daily low-cost flight which takes 1 hour 30 minutes. It is then an easy 40-minute drive from Pau airport to Ogeu. Car-hire is available from the airport (Ryanair offer discounts with Hertz). Other airports within easy reach of Ogeu are Biarritz (1 hour 30 minutes), Toulouse (2 hours 30 minutes) and Bordeaux (3 hours).
Ogeu has its own train station and it is possible to travel to the house by train. You could, for instance, take the TGV to Pau and then catch a train directly from there to Ogeu.
French motorways are excellent if you want to bring your own car. Some visitors have used the ferry crossing to Santander which is approximately 4 hours' drive from Ogeu.
Ski:
Gourette, the local ski resort, is 40 minutes' drive away. The French Government invested 20 million euros in upgrading it recently and this has turned it into a first-rate resort for both the beginner and the expert. It is rarely crowded and much better value than most Alpine resorts. Pierre Saint-Martin and Artouste are each about 45 minutes away, and there are also a number of resorts specialising in cross-country and ski de fond within an hour of Ogeu.
