Vendee holiday house: La Meilleriae-Tillay

This property is great for a family holiday, particularly if you fancy a quiet week without too much hopping in and out of cars. We had 2 days where we didn't go out at all, spending the day in the pool, playing table tennis & pool and having barbeques. You do need the weather for that kind of day to work though...
The house is well-equipped, and as others have said, the balcony is a notable feature. Sitting on there with a glass of wine, listening to nothing but the birds, the crickets and the odd agricultural noise - a great way to end any day.
I'm a cyclist and I had some great rides in all directions from the house - cycling on French roads is a real pleasure after British ones anyway, and the undulating nature of the countryside meant that I was in and out of the saddle, and managed to limit the damage from the French patisserie! The only reason I can think of to discourage anyone from booking here is a) if you want a beach holiday - realisitically you're not going to make the effort to drive nearly 90 mins more than once a week, and b) if you don't like the quiet. We do - not that you'd have though so from the noise the kids generated in the pool - and had a great time here.
Finally, the owners were really friendly and easy to deal with.
