Very comfortable lovely restored farmhouse. 4 large and airy bedrooms, luxury family bathroom, bright & clean shower room, additional downstairs WC, huge entrance hall, large lounge with wood burning stove, elegant dining area, modernised kitchen with wood burner and all modern equipment (dishwasher, full electric oven & gas hob, large fridge, washing machine, coffee maker etc) Central heating throughout and electric fans in all bedrooms. Large private courtyard with BBQ, very sunny patio with table, chairs and large sun shade, plus main dining table in covered summer kitchen/diner, with built in music system. Lawned gardens with roses, colourful flower beds and mature trees. Angenay a quiet hamlet, just 10 mins walk from Vouzailles, the nearest village with superb bakery and general store. There are lovely walks through open countryside, woods and gorgeous sunflower fields. The Haut Poitou wine route with its rows and rows of vines runs through the next village and the wine is available for sale at the Cave du Haut Poitou in Neuville-de-Poitou. Neuville holds an excellent market on sunday mornings and is home to the famous Model Expo, this year being held on 3-4 October 2009. Within a 5 mile radius there are good picnic spots in woods, by rivers and lakes and on hillsides overlooking the whole plateau. There are quiet, well surfaced roads and miles of marked cycle paths in nearby Foret de Vouille. 20 mins drive to Poitiers (for stylish shopping and many restaurants) and Futuroscope theme park. 90 mins to La Rochelle and other sunny, sandy beaches. The fabulous Loire Valley chateaux are within 1 hour's drive. TGV from Poitiers to Paris takes only 90 mins.

  • Single night prices bed abd breakfast and are per room. B&B includes all linens, towels and use of pool & gardens
    For fully catered short breaks, please contact us directly for prices. We can arrange a catering package to suit your needs, from family holidays to wedding or anniversary parties.
  • For self catered house rental a deposit of 15% is payable to confirm the booking and the balance is payable 6 weeks prior to the holiday. Please take advantage of Holiday rentals guarantee which which gives registered travellers FREE payment protection when booking your property.
    A breakages / cleaning deposit of £125 is payable with the balance, which will be returned within 7 days of the end of the holiday, less any breakages or exceptional cleaning costs.

    Guests are requested to arrive after 16.00 on startday of the holiday and to leave before 10.00 on the last day, to allow time for preparation and cleaning. If you need to arrive early or late please telephone or text to advise us.

    Bed and breakfast guests are requested to arrive after 14.00 and to leave by 11.00 on the day of departure.
  • Within the grounds there is an additional property sometimes occupied by the owners. The garden of this property is separate and private from the garden for guests use. Whilst not normally available this property can also be rented during the high season to add 2 further double bedroom & 2 bathroom capacity to the main house. Please contact owner for details.

  • All bedrooms are large and airy, with big windows. All have wardrobes, electric fans and hairdryers. Bed linen is provided, including quilts for each bed and additional blankets as required. Bedroom one - the master bedroom - has a king size bed and is ensuite with luxury family bathroom. Access to bedroom 4 is via bedroom 1. Bedroom two is in the 'tower' and is a twin room which can also be made up as a king size double. The shower room is also in the tower and overlooks Vouzailles village. Bedroom three is known as 'the green room'. It has twin beds and is next door to the tower room. This room is large enough to take an additional single bed if required. It shares access to the shower room in the tower. Bedroom four is a twin bedded room with double aspect. It is accessed via bedroom one. The landing at the top of the stairs is a large open space with window, which can be used for two additional folding beds, with 2 privacy screens.

Notes: Badminton net and rackets available. Table-Tennis facilities and lots of toys and games are provided. The house has very wide doors and is accessible via wheelchair and although there is a downstairs WC all bedrooms are on the first floor. Changeover day is usually Saturday in high season - but contact us we can be flexible. Outside of the high season we can arrange a changeover day to suit your travel plans. we are open for Bed and breakfast guests from Easter to end October, excluding July and August. Guests are welcome to stay for one night or several.

Heating: This lovely former farmhouse has very thick stone walls which keep the rooms (including bedrooms) fresh during the hot summer days and evenings. For exceptionally hot periods all rooms have electric fans. For low season rentals or B&B stays, the house is kept lovely and warm via full central heating and a wood burning stove in the lounge and in the kitchen.

Garden maintenance & welcome: The garden and pool will be maintained by the owner during the summer, including usually one visit per week to cut the lawns, check the pool filters and clean the pool. The pool does not need heating during the high season, as it is covered by a telescopic cover (abri). Guests can swim with the abri in place or its easy to roll back each day. The pool is then totally exposed to the sun. The abri also ensures complete safety when closed. Additional pool heating can be provided at a weekly charge of £40. It is our pleasure to provide a welcome pack, which contains milk, tea, coffee, bread, butter and fresh produce such as cheese, pate and salad. We also ensure that essentials such as washing up liquid, dishwasher powder, loo rolls and cleaning products are available and guests are requested to top up these supplies as they use them.

House Party Celebration: This lovely house is also great for a house party – perhaps to celebrate a wedding anniversary, an engagement or a significant birthday. Enjoy the company of your family and friends in a relaxing and gentle environment – swim or relax by the pool, challenge the kids to table tennis, wander around the garden or rest and read a book under a shady tree. Let us look after you and prepare your party meals in a lovely happy atmosphere. We can accommodate 10 people in 5 rooms three of which have private bathrooms and the other two share a shower room and additional loo. We will be delighted to cater for your party as you require. We can include breakfast and alfresco lunch with dinner served under the stars. If it’s not so warm we’ll light the huge wood fire and eat in the large salon. We always use fresh local ingredients and can order in special celebratory menu’s designed by local chefs and ‘traiteurs’. Let us know the dates you wish – minimum 3 nights. (not high season sorry)
