ELEANOR is a luxurious 130' river barge moored on the Seine in the cool and quiet Bois de Boulogne. It is our home and we rent it when we are away, mostly in summer. There are bus stations nearby. A car is not necessary. 5 minutes drive across the Bois de Boulogne will take you to the place de l'Etoile, 15 minutes drive following the Seine will bring you the Eiffel Tower. Busses orMetro will also take you swiftly anywhere in Paris. Enjoy breakfast on the sundeck, Paris during the day and retire for a cool evening in an exceptional environment aboard ELEANOR: A ship in the countryside, yet in Paris ! Main accommodation includes 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.

Transportation: ELEANOR's mooring is next to the floating restaurant 'Le Galion', near the Longchamps race course, on the Paris side of the Seine, near the Pont de Suresnes. Tell the taxi to take you to the car park of restaurant 'Le Galion'. Several bus stations near by, but we recommend a small car. Traffic is light in Paris in July August. Free shaded and safe car park 100 meters from ship. 2 bicycles aboard.

Shopping and staff: Two open air market places and convenience shops within walking distances. Barbeque on deck. A dependable lady lives in her own independant appartment at the forward end of the ship. She knows the ship and will clean the ship 1 hour per day while you visit Paris.

At sea or in town ?: A ship in the countryside, minutes from the center in Paris. So restfull you will want to explore Explore Paris 'petit à petit'.

Golf: Several golf courses within 30 minutes driving west of Paris, Including St Nom la Bretèche.

Paris visit

This is the best venue to see Paris and at the same time be in a beautiful quite location right in the centre.

I was very reluctant to write this review as I really wanted to keep the secret of this wonderful boat.

If you are a horseracing fan you are within a few miniutes walk from one of the finest racecourses in the world with the best horse race day in the world.

We visited Eleanor in 2009, we really enjoyed the location, especially the good connections to the city and the ability to relax "on deck" after a busy walk through Paris.
The DSL connection was without problems, some business items needed coverage, so this was good.
