This fairy-tale country villa stands in its own secluded grounds, with a striking 10.5x6m pool. It is surrounded by oaks over 250 years old supporting a swing and hammock. The house, with clematis, vines and climbing roses, is in an exceptionally private, peaceful area and is a wonderful place to come and relax. The layout is typical of a shepherd's house of this era with a single large living/dining area and 4 bedrooms, 2 opening symmetrically off either side. The house sleeps 8. It is beautifully decorated and is not a standard 'functional' rental property. Washroom facilities are a bath and shower, twin wash-basins and 2 loos. The kitchen opens onto a patio leading to the pool, a few steps from the backdoor. There is a very large range of outdoor games at your disposal and mountain-bikes to explore the miles of forest tracks which start a few metres from your door. Notes to the rental rates

• 30% of the total rental fee should be paid to secure a booking. Availability will be reserved following an enquiry and pending receipt of payment. Balance payments are due no later than 8 weeks prior to the start date of the holiday. If the booking is made less than 8 weeks before the start date, then the full rental fee should be paid at the time of booking. For further details please contact us for our website address.
  
• There is a refundable breakage deposit of 50% of the weekly rental rate up to a maximum of £500. This deposit becomes due for payment 4 weeks prior to the start of the booking.
  
• Heating and electricity are included in the rental price. During cold weather outside of the summer months clients will be provided with one large basket of logs for the fire. A charge may be made for further supplies. There are heaters in each bedroom, a radiator in the bathroom and underfloor heating in the living room. We do respectfully ask clients to use the heating economically.

We are entering our 6th year of renting our property to holiday goers. We have done our very best to provide accommodation which is exceptional in every way and the feedback we get from guests suggests our hard work has been worth it! We are often told by people who rent properties regularly that it is the first time they have visited a house that has absolutely everything you need for the perfect holiday. Firstly, it is hard to convey the space and tranquility that exists here. Most groups come with children and really appreciate that there is enough space and enough games and toys to keep them busy for an entire 2 weeks, leaving the adults free to relax by the pool!! We are 4.5 km from the nearest village. There are no neighbours overlooking the gardens and no passing traffic on the tiny country lane that leads to the house. The site is perfect for families and friends who wish to relax and have fun in beautiful, private surroundings.

Secondly, we have decorated and and equipped the house as if for ourselves, not as a merely 'functional' rental property. We know the area intimately as it has been our holiday home for nearly 14 years. We have brought our two children to the house several times each year since they were born and so can advise on any aspect of bringing babies, toddlers or older children for a holiday. Golf Information:

Some of France's oldest and most famous golf courses are found in Aquitaine. The house is ideally situated between the cities of Bordeaux and Biarritz, around which you will find over a dozen courses, a couple being amongst the best in Europe. Some are in beautiful coastal settings. The climate is warm and sunny from the beginning of spring until well into November and the courses are immaculate and uncrowded. Many of our guests who come in the summer play a course or two during their stay. It is possible to book a low cost flight to Bordeaux or Biarritz, particularly out of the main holiday seasons, making it an ideal destination for a golfing week away. Come with a group of friends or family for a great golfing holiday! Our rooms are extremely comfortable and the site is idyllic with lower prices at times of the year when the weather is perfect for golf. There is even enough room in the grounds to practice your shots! We can book your passes for you and also organise other activities such as clay pigeon shooting or wine tasting.
