Holiday villa complex at ST HILAIRE DE RIEZ, only 650m from the famous long, sandy beach. There is a road to cross which runs in front of the holiday village, and then there is a track through the forest which is 650m to the beach. The villas are set amongst the sand dunes and really close to the pine forest with excellent footpaths and cycle tracks. The complex of various sized holiday villas, has a heated swimming pool, children's club activities and a reception where bread can be ordered and bike hire can be organised and a laundry. There are 160 villas in total which are in groups of adjoining villas but each has its own outside courtyard area with table and chairs. There are numbered separate parking spaces as the complex is a semi-pedestrian one. There are shops approx 400metres away, cafe, restaurant, pub, Atlantic Toboggan water fun park 500m, public launderette, mini golf 300m. These photographs were take, in 2004. The villas are tiled inside with white walls and often have locally made pine furniture or the owners own choice of furniture. The doors from the terrace lead into the open plan lounge with sofa, dining and kitchen area, with open stairs which lead up to the mezzanine. For the 6 person sized villa, there is one bedroom downstairs and a further bedroom upstairs and an open mezzanine area bedroom. In the kitchen area there is a sink, fridge with freezer compartment, a cooker, 4 electric rings and a mini-oven or microwave and crockery and cutlery. The bedroom downstairs is often a double bedroom. The mezzanine has a double sofa bed. The second bedroom often has 2 singles. The width of beds are approx Double :140cm, Single :80cm. There are blankets and pillows provided in the villa - we can organise sheets/towels hire. The bathroom has a flexible shower hose fitted from the bath. Some of the larger villas have a second shower room and/or a second toilet as well. There is a laundrette.

There is a heated swimming pool -open all day and from end of April to end of September, a reception where bread can be pre-ordered There are numbered parking spaces as the complex is pedestrian one. There are approx 160 villas in this complex built during 2004 and 2005. The villas are in groups of 4 and 6 and 8 villas. The site is approx 4.5 hectares and has an exit where you can walk to the forest or a walk to the beach is 650metres from reception - you need to cross a road. I will give you a code to collect your key from a special collection box, if you arrive after reception has closed. There is a public laundrette at reception. The holiday village was featured in Regional Press - please ask for article. New for 2008, Bikes delivered to your door. If you pre-book your cycle hire for a minimum of 7 days, your bicycles will be delivered right to your door at no extra charge. And at the end of your rental, they can be collected too. Arrival instructions

Arrival days are normally from Saturday 5pm to Saturday 8pm. There is a security AND CLEANING deposit taken at reception of 260 euros which is given on arrival by credit card. PRICES DO NOT INCLUDE: Local tourist tax 0.27 euros per person per day. Electricity,water and heating cost 20 euros per week between 14/6/08 and 13/9/08 and 35 euros per week at other times. PAYABLE EXTRAS: cot (7 euros /day or 29 euros/week; highchair (5 euros/day or 15 euros/week; Sheets (8 euros per person); Towels (1 bath + 1 hand towel = 6 euros per person)- all can be ordered as extras and payable at reception on arrival. You must leave your villa CLEAN or pay for a CLEANING service at reception. If you prefer, a mid stay clean (39 euros) and/or an end of stay clean can be booked at reception (84 euros) or a cleaning kit can be purchased for 6 euros. There is a public laundrette.

Local information

St Hilaire de Riez beaches spread from the Plage des Demoiselles beach to that of the Baie de Sion, nine beaches are spread over 12 kilometres in a long line of fine sand with sand dunes. Connected by a cycle trail that crosses the maritime pine and hardwood forest, they have eleven security posts. The excellent quality of the water is recognised and certified by the Pavillon Bleu d'Europe, a label whose conditions of application are draconian. In July and August, a wide variety of sports activities are available in this enormous adventure playground. You can enjoy beach volley ball, sand yachting, beach football or jogging. Water sports enthusiasts can enjoy the infrastructures of the Sion Station Voile and the pleasures of the open sea. At the end of the afternoon and in the evening a variety of shows - concerts, street theatre - take over. The most famous of them, an impressive musical fireworks display that takes place at the end of July over the ocean.
