Newly renovated to a very high standard, this apartment is set over two floors in a traditional stone chalet in the heart of the old village of Le Tour, providing excellent self-catering accommodation for both summer and winter rentals. The apartment provides perfect access to the many exciting winter and summer activities for which the valley is famed. It is a two minute walk to both the nursery slopes and the Le Tour cable car which gives access to excellent intermediate skiing and snowboarding. Argentiere, with its demanding runs and some of the best off-piste skiing in Europe, is a short five minute drive away. The apartment has benefited from recent refurbishment yet retains its traditional charm and features. It would provide the perfect base for families or couples looking to explore the valley. Our excellent English and French speaking agent will meet and greet you and be on hand during your stay to help and advise you.

  • A 25% deposit is required upon booking with the remainder to be paid 8 weeks before your holiday. Cleaning costs 50 euros payable in cash on arrival together with a refundable deposit of 150 euros against breakages/damage. Bedlinen and towels are not included but you may rent this at a cost of 15 euros per person per week (bedlinen, towels and tea towels).

Notes: The apartment is on two levels on floors one and two of the chalet. On the first floor is the open plan living area with comfortable sofa and chairs, flat-screen satelite TV and Dominique Imbert designed spherical suspended wood burning stove. Large French doors lead to a spacious balcony. Off this is the dining area with large wooden table and chairs and, to one side, a newly fitted and well equipped kitchen with granite worktop and Bosch appliances. The master bedroom, bathroom and WC are also on this floor. Upstairs are two further bedrooms and a luxury shower room. One houses a large double bed and has wonderful views down the valley to Mont Blanc. The other has twin beds and a single futon. This spacious apartment has recently been refitted to a very high standard. The balcony has a table and 4 chairs for outside dining.

Winter in the Chamonix valley.: Some of the best and most demanding skiing and snowboarding in the world is to be found in the valley, with some 200 lifts and 600kms of pistes. For intermediates and experts some of the longest and steepest runs are to be found at the Grand Montets (3200m) in Argentiere as well as at the Aiguille du Midi (3825m) in Chamonix itself. Le Tour offers excellent conditions for beginners and intermediates alike and is ideal for a family holiday. Because of the situation the quality of the snow remains good until late in the season. For those who prefer cross-country skiing there are a number of trails in the valley. In addition, Le Tour boasts more sunshine than any other part of the valley!

Summer in the Chamonix valley: The valley is equally fabulous in the summer as in winter! Chamonix is the centre for mountaineering in Europe and houses the French mountaineering school. In addition, there are opportunities for the adventurous to try their hand at canoeing, white water rafting, mountain biking and paragliding. The summer luge (kids of all ages love this!) and the Foret d'Aventure (trails with ropes up in the trees) can be found in Chamonix. If you prefer your pursuits a little gentler, there are walks and hikes of varying lengths and difficulties. Many of the cable cars are open during the summer months so that everyone can enjoy the spectacular panoramas of Mont Blanc and the neighbouring peaks. Two tramways operate - to the Mer de Glace (largest glacier in Europe) from Chamonix and the St Gervais Tramway affording fantastic views of Mont Blanc. There are also nature reserves within a few miles, plus the more usual tennis, swimming and horse riding.

What else?: Le Tour is ideally situated for exploring a little further afield. Switzerland is just a short drive away and Italy is easily accessible via the Mont Blanc Tunnel. If you prefer to stay put, Chamonix has much to recommend it - a wide variety of shops, cafes and restaurants, with weekend markets in both Chamonix and Argentiere.

Our family of seven and a toddler had a wonderful holiday in this delightful property.It is a really attractive well set out appartment. with a modern kitchen with every convenience , good bathroom/showers and extremely comfortable bedrooms.A stairgate was provided for the toddler and it was very safe for him as well.The village was peaceful and quiet and we loved the constant jingle of cowbells.We could sit on the balcony in the evening sun.
It was so helpful that the very pleasant owner was English and only too happy to assist us with every detail.The nearest town Argentiere was a short drive/walk away with shops that provided everthing we needed.
We would certainly recommend thid appartment for a really enjoyable holiday.We went to the Le Dahu restaurant in Argentiere several times for evening meals

Excellent Ski Location - Great Apartment

Having read some of the previous reviews for this lovely apartment they seem to say it all – a well equipped home from home, spacious and comfortable, lovely log burning stove to cosy up to with a glass of wine après ski - the list goes on. And what a great location with the Le Tour ski lift only a few metres away and when we were there we could ski –in almost to the door every day. Great ski slopes for all abilities and beautifully scenic.

The owners were very helpful, recommending a friendly and accommodating ski hire shop with extremely competitive prices. Go again? Most certainly perhaps in the summer to experience the mountain without its winter coat.

An amazing holiday in Le Tour!

We booked this apartment for a snowboarding holiday for 4 adults, the apartment is fantastic, it is modern and fully equipped with everything you need. The owner and agent were so helpful and made our stay very enjoyable. The apartment location is perfect, right by the Le Tour cable car (Le Tour is an excellent region in Chamonix, with green blue and red runs which is brilliant for groups of mixed abilities) The buses go from a stop next to the cable car and are free, we were never waiting more than ten minutes for a bus to visit another region or go into Chamonix town. We had a really great holiday and cannot recommend this apartment enough. Many thanks and hope to book again with you!

We have stayed in this lovely apartment 4 times now and plan to return next year , so you could say that we are very happy with it! The main thing is, it is very clean,comfortable, and spacious.The kitchen is well-equipped, so when I do choose to cook a meal , everything is there at hand. My two teenage children also love it here. There is plenty of space for us all. There are two bathrooms, plenty of hot water at the end of the day when everyone wants to shower/bathe and the whole apartment is lovely and warm. Gemma meets and lets you into the apartment. She is friendly and very helpful.
She recommended a restaurant on the slopes at Les Houches. Go to it! It's a real find. A little wooden restaurant serving delicious, authentic French food.
We always eat at Le Dahu in Argentiere. Good food at reasonable prices. We always go for the hot stone , on which you cook your own beef, duck and turkey breast.
All the ski areas are good. We particulary like Le Flegere. Queues are usually long ,but once up there it is worth it. Lots of interesting reds and blacks. The trip tp Courmayeur is recommended and this year we went over to Verbier. The return trip took 3 hours and it was twice as busy on the slopes and on the lifts. Would not do it again. But skiing at Le tour is wonderful. Just minutes from the apartment. You are soon up and enjoying the lovely blue and red runs. Ski all the way down to Vallocine and enjoy lunch there.
All in all I would happily recommend this apartment.
