A luxurious, spacious (52 m²), high-spec, apartment with picture windows providing uninterrupted views towards the Grands Montets mountain range and the Mont Blanc massif; this panorama, underfloor heating and wood finishes contribute to a feeling of warmth and luxury. It accommodates up to 6 people. The charming open-plan living space has a fully-equipped modern kitchen and a dining area. There is a comfortable, large double sofa bed, armchair, TV and a CD/DVD player and the windows open out onto a wide balcony for sun-bathing, alfresco dining in summer and from which you can enjoy the views across to Les Grands Montets, the Argentière Glacier and the 'home-run' piste of Per à Ric. To the rear is the sleeping area with the main double bedroom and a separate twin room. The apartment has one bathroom, with both bath and shower fittings, and a separate toilet. There is a designated parking space within the underground garage, private ski locker and other storage space for luggage.

Argentière is a top ski and mountaineering resort with traditional Savoyard village charm, located near the head of the Chamonix valley in the French Alps. Altitude:village 1252m, ski lifts 3,295m. Lake Geneva is only an hour away and the village lies 15 mins from Switzerland and 40 mins from Italy via the famous Mont Blanc tunnel, making it a perfect base for exploring the area and sampling cuisine as well as for winter and summer sports. The village has some of the best skiing in the Chamonix area via the Grand Montets and Lognan lifts (blue, red, black and challenging off-piste runs which are most highly regarded). Also, convenient buses and the Metre-Gauge railway can take you to other ski areas on your lift pass: Le Tour/Vallorcine (beginner/intermediate skiers), La Flégère (intermediate to expert) and Le Brévent (beginner). A choice summer alpine village, Argentiere offers well-maintained and clearly marked hiking trails, rock and ice climbing, indoor climbing, tennis...

Notes: The apartment is conveniently sited, a few minutes walk away from the centre of Argentière village and the slopes of Les Grands Montets. It is only 300 metres from the Lognan/Grands Montets cable car, the ESF Ski-School and a children's club, which provides a very comprehensive child-care service. A Ski Bus provides easy access to the other ski areas of the Chamonix Valley. Argentière village is only five miles from the town of Chamonix, 15 minutes from the French/Swiss border and 40 minutes via the Mont BlancTunnel from Italy. Lake Geneva is an hour's drive, as is the unmissable French medieval town of Annecy.

Other facilities: Other facilities can be found in nearby Chamonix. These include a sports centre, gym, swimming pool, bowling alley and cinema. For those who like to climb there are climbing walls in both Chamonix and Les Houches. There is an ice climbing festival in Argentiere every January, 'L’Argentière la Bessée', which attracts climbers from all parts of the globe.

Getting Around: For those not wishing to drive themselves there are a number of good airport transfer services that operate from Geneva International Airport. One we have had recommended is A-T-S. While you are staying in Argentiere itself there is an excellent bus service to all the other resorts in the Chamonix Valley. There is also a metre-gauge railway running between St Gervais and Martigny.

Ski: In addition to the many on- and off-piste runs in Argentiere, there is an ESF Ski School in the village (tel 0033 04 54 0012) and a children's ski club offering superb childminding facilities. For those looking to go off-piste, it is strongly recommended to do so only in the company of the experienced local guides.

We have stayed in Chez Jenri several times now, and have loved it every time. The view from the balcony to Mont Blanc and Les Grands Montets is second to none, with easy access to numerous ski lifts, shops, supermarket and quality restaurants. The apartment is always clean, comfortable and well presented, with under-floor heating to keep you cosy and warm! The recent addition of wifi internet access is an extra bonus! We will be back as soon as possible, and have already recommended it to many of our friends. Thanks so much for making this place so special.

Chez Jenri is a real home-from-home!

Chez Jenri is a comfortable base for a skiing holiday in the Chamonix valley. It offers good quality accommodation; a lounge for relaxing after a hard day on the piste, an open fire for that true Alpine feel, underfloor heating to keep the place warm, a kitchen fully-equipped for those nights you fancy some self-catering. Secure parking in the garage. The village of Argentiere is great for eateries of different types and it also has some Apres-ski / live music. Access to ski area of Les Grands Montets is directly opposite Chez Jenri, as is the stop for the free ski buses to reach all ski areas in the valley. Excellent service. The local train station also provides good service to other villages in the valley and to Chamonix, where there is a larger selection of places to eat, drink and be merry. To sum up, Chez Jenri is a superb base for that next ski trip!

Chamonix-Mont Blanc Bliss

This apartment is wonderful. It is centrally located in the Chamonix Valley, and is very convenient. Negatives were the bed was a bit hard and didn't fit in the room (bedroom was small), no toaster, no internet, no landline phone, street noise. Positives are the location, amazing view of Mont Blanc from the balcony, underground parking, homey atmosphere. It really was nice, but would love to have the internet there!

The apartment was just as we expected, very comfortable with all the facitities and equipment we could wish for. The location is very convenient for the skiing as well as shops and restaurants and the free bus stop is not far away. Highly recommended.
