Chamonix,:
Set at the foot of Mont Blanc, is a bustling and cosmopolitan town. Steeped in Alpine history, the resort has attracted mountaineers for over two centuries and skiers since 1893. It has over 200 shops, numerous bars and restaurants, four nightclubs and an international casino, as well as offering activities such as skating, curling, indoor tennis, squash, swimming, bowling, fitness centre, saunas, snowshoeing, ice climbing, paragliding and 17km of Alpine walks.

Getting to Chamonix : :
By Air: Geneva Airport - approx. 1hr 30mins transfer. By Train: Chamonix Station in resort. By Car: Autoroute to Geneva. Autoroute Blanche (A40). Follow signs to Chamonix.
Ski:
The Mont Blanc pass covers some of the most challenging skiing in the Alps. Ski buses connect five ski areas in the valley - free with the Chamski pass, the 20km long Vallee Blanche, plus Courmayeur in neighbouring Italy. The local Chamonix/Argentiere area has an abundance of intermediate slopes, whilst the more adventerous can ski the mogul fields or off piste skiing of the Grande Montets area. The beginners slopes are at Le Tour - La Vourmaine, Les Bossons, Le Savoy and Les Houches or at nearby Plannards. 150km of total skiing comprises 17 green, 22 blue, 25 red and 10 black runs, with an additional 42km of cross country.
