Situated just off the lively Via D'Aoste (by the Avenue l'Aiguille du Midi) with its shops, bars & restaurants, the location of this beautifully refurbished open-plan third floor duplex makes it a perfect base to enjoy all the facilities of this unique alpine resort/town. The historic main square with its grand casino is a 500m walk through the main shopping street. The sports centre, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, ice rink (with weekly national hockey matches), cinema & many other facilities are within easy walking distance. 50m from the door is the cable car for the Aiguille du Midi (the third most visited natural site in the world) for those who wish to ski the 22km vallee blanche, & buses to all ski areas. From the top of the Aiguille du Midi you can enjoy a cable car all the way to Courmeyeur in Italy.

  • Changeover days are normally Saturday to Saturday though other days can be accommodated.
    50% non-refundable deposit is needed to confirm all bookings and can be paid in any currency via paypal The other 50% is payable in cash or cheques made out in Euros on arrival.
    Once deposit is received a confirmation voucher will be issued which needs to be presented to the management agency.
    French tourist tax of Euro 1 per person per day will also be collected by the management agency.

  • The duplex is on two levels and is ALL open plan. As well as a second shower room on the upper level there is a double bed above a single bed (IKEA style) and two extra single beds in an alcove (therefore affording some privacy). On the lower level there are three very big sofa beds. Two of them are split level (so each person has in effect their own bed) and the third double sofa bed comprises of two mattresses so there again it is suitable for two friends.

Notes: This warm & bright apartment is on the 3rd & final floor of an attractive centrally located building which has special security access and is serviced by three lifts. The apartment itself is a fully converted duplex, split on 2 floors. Upstairs has 3 single beds and a raised double bed (above one of the single beds) and a shower. On the ground floor there is a modern kitchenette (with halogen hob, mini-oven & the all essential quiet dishwasher!, kettle, toaster etc. & a fully stocked plate and cutlery cupboard), a dining table which seats 8, 1 double sofa bed (the sofa bed has 2 single mattresses and can easily sleep 2 big adults), 2 single sofa beds with pull out beds underneath, large shower room with throughput shower (you never have to wait for the water to heat up!) and a separate loo. For entertainment there is cable TV & a DVD player. Although the apartment can sleep up to 11, we would recommend a maximum of 8.

Arrival & Departure Information: Our apartment is run by a management agency who will welcome you and give you the keys. They will also deal with any problems or queries you may have. A deposit of 250 euros will be taken on arrival and will be refunded once the apartment has been thoroughly checked after departure. To maintain standards we have introduced a cleaning charge of 30 euros so that we can use professional cleaners before every booking. Bedlinen must also be hired off our agency. They will contact you with prices. The agency will charge you 20 euros extra for checking in after 9pm. Checking in is usually after 5pm - checking out is usually before 10am, although if the apartment is ready they will let you have it before. The management agency will also help you with any holiday requirements you may have.

Travel information: Chamonix town lies at the foot of the stunning near perpendicular Mont Blanc mountain range. The nearest airport is Geneva which runs frequent coaches to Chamonix (1h45m) and from where is it easy to hire a car. The autoroute runs from the channel to within 25km of the town. There is also a railway station.

Location: The Place de Chamonix Sud at the back of the building is a traffic free square with its own supermarket, shops, bars etc. With very cheap flights from London into Geneva, Chamonix is the natural choice for all those on a budget.

Ski: With numerous ski lifts, the Chamonix valley is world renowned for its excellent skiing facilities

Other Activities: ice diving, mountain climbing
