La Plagne:
Set in the Tarantaise Valley, La Plagne is made up of 10 interlinked villages ranging from traditional mountain villages to the higher purpose built villages. Much of the accommodation has doorstep skiing. Higher up the mountain there are challenging runs and extensive off piste, lower down pretty runs through the trees to the lower villages. Non skiers can brave the Olympic bobsleigh run in Plagne 1800 or enjoy the swimming pool, sauna, ice rink, fitness centre and cinema. * Olympic Bobsleigh run in Plagne 1800. * Motorway blues combined with more challenging skiing. * 215 km of snow sure pistes. * Ski range of 1250 - 3250 metres.
Getting to La Plagne:
By Air: Geneva or Lyon Airport - approx 3 hrs transfers. By Train: Aime Station - bus or taxi to resort. By Car: Autoroute to Albertville. N90 (dual carriageway) to Moutiers. Follow signs for Bourg St Maurice.
Ski:
La Grande Plagne has wide and varied skiing with many kilometres of motorway blues combined wuth the more challenging skiing of the Roche de Mio and the surrounding off-piste. The higher villages enjoy the convenience of doorstep skiing and the resort boasts a most efficient lift system giving exceptionally good access to the different areas. The Bellecote Gondola climbs up to the Roche de Mio which is gateway to the highest skiing in the resort, that of the Bellecote Glacier. The lower villages are efficiently linked into the system, with a telecabine from champagny and a four man chair lift joining the skiing of Montchavin/Les Coches to the main ski are. The runs down to Montalbert-Longefoy are mostly tree lined as are those to the villages of Montchavin/Les Coches. The pistes comprise 11 green, 72 blue, 34 red and 6 black. There is 90km of cross country trail.
