Situated high up in the French Alps, the area offers a multitude of activities for winter and summer visitors alike. In winter Le Grand Bornand-Chinaillon-La Clusaz is a busy ski resort (with over 220km pistes), whilst in summer it offers a wonderful base from which to explore the area. The village of Chinaillon itself provides a range of shops which include a fantastic butchers, bakery / patisserie, supermarket, hairdresser, pharmacy and sports shops. There is also a wide range of excellent restaurants, offering local specialities such as ‘tartiflette’ and ‘raclette’.
Just 300m below Chinaillon lies Le Grand Bornand which offers additional amenities such as a swimming pool, ice skating rink, numerous shops and a weekly market. The picturesque landscape is dotted with typical Savoyard chalets, and in the old part of the village of Chinaillon there are a number of very beautiful traditional buildings.
