The apartment is a private holiday home situated in Charvet village of Arcs 1800 and fully equipped for four persons, especially suitable for a family group but NOT four persons of the same gender due to the sleeping arrangements. There are two bunk beds in the hall alcove and a sofa double bed in the lounge. The bathroom has a bath/shower with wash basin and toilet. Fully equipped kitchenette with fridge, three electric hobs, oven/grill, microwave oven, toaster, coffee percolator, electric kettle etc. The lounge has a sofa bed, dining table and chairs. The balcony has north east views towards Arcs 1600 and in the further distance, the Isere valley and mountains towards Italy. In all, the apartment and balcony measures approximately 32 square metres. The skiing area is accessed by taking the apartment lift to the top floor, walk along a covered walkway (about 75 metres) ascend a short flight of ski steps to the snow.

Additional information about rental rates

  • These costs are for the apartment and include all power, heating and hot water. Sometimes we can accommodate guests for longer than a week (eg ten days) in which case we merely charge pro-rata to the published rates.
  • The rental rates reflect the fact that we expect our guests to clean the apartment at the end of their stay. We do NOT employ professional cleaners as in our experience, the cleaning is often below standard. Therefore, cleaning at the end of your stay is essential as the apartment must be left in the condition you would expect to find it.
  • If the booking is made more than 6 weeks in advance of rental period a deposit of 25% of rent will be required. Within six weeks of departure the full rental is payable plus a key/security deposit for each letting that will be repaid upon return of the key and confirmation of no breakages. If any item is broken we expect it to be replaced at the resort but if this is not possible an agreed sum will be deducted from your security deposit.
    The apartment is a no smoking/no pets area.

Linen and towels: Guests are asked to provide their own towels and tea towels. Guests will also need their own sheets, pillow cases and duvet covers. Pillows and duvets are provided.

Travel- Road: By Car: Motorway through France to Albertville, dual carriageway to Moutiers and then RN to Bourg St Maurice. A wide mountain road then leads directly up to Les Arcs 1800 where there is ample free outside parking or paid inside parking. The mountain road is regularly kept clear of snow but chains or four wheel drive are essential. The alternative is to leave your car in Bourg St Maurice at the foot of the mountain and take the funicular railway up to the resort.

Travel - Rail and Air: Trains run from the UK direct to Bourg St Maurice from where you can either take a taxi or the funicular railway up the mountain. The resort is served by Lyon, Grenoble, Chambery or Geneva airports. The airport websites will give details of onward transfers to Les Arcs.

Ski: The apartment is well placed for easy access to the pistes and lifts. The flat is on level nine and apartment lifts will take you to level eleven. From there a short walk and one flights of stairs takes you to the snow. After a gentle downhill glide, a six man chairlift will take you further up the mountain. At the end of the day you are able to ski back to where you started in the morning, conditions permitting. Les Arcs comprises of four centres 1600, 1800, 1950 and 2000. All centres are interlinked by an efficient lift system that can carry over 85000 people per hour. There are over 121 ski runs measuring over 200 kms. In addition, there is a gondola link to La Plagne and the 'Paradiski' ski pass covers over 400 kms of marked pistes, surely enough for anyone! SUMMER - In July and August a number of ski lifts operate to take walkers and cyclists up the mountains. There are over 40 activities on offer including golf, swimming, white water rafting and tennis.

Pierra Menta apartment

In February 2008 we stayed in the apartment as a family of 2 adults and 2 children. Upon our arrival we were pleasantly suprised by the good standard of apartment and its excellent location.
I have previously stayed in many ski apartments but this was deceptively spacious, and as it was privately owned was better equipped with home comforts than I have found else where.
The apartment is about 400 meters from the main resort lifts and you only have to walk about 100 metres to a point where you can put on your skis/board and glide down to the lifts.
The resort with its good restuarants and bars was within easy walking distance.
The booking of the apartment was very smooth with the owner providing information on the resort and good directions by all form of transport. We flew to Chambery and hired a car and found it a very easy route to follow.
The price of the partment was very reasonable compared with others specially as we went in the peak time of half term. I was expecting the slopes to be crammed with kids and queues for the lifts, but the exact opposite was in fact the case.
I have no hesitation in recomending this apartment and we may look to book again in the low season as 2 couples for a cheap weeks skiing

Great apartment for our 2 week stay!!!

All good, well stocked kitchen, spotless, very close to lifts and town square - but still very quiet and great views. We felt right at home while staying here. The owners are very friendly and I thoroughly recommend renting this apartment. There is linen/towel rental available in the Pierra Menta building (Pressing le Dauphin - see the Les Arcs web site for details). The apartment is easy to get to - the free bus from the funicular drops you off at the building. All this and the snow...was...soooo good. I've just had the best snowboarding trip ever.

xmas week 2008-2009

On arriving at Les arcs we managed to find the app block which is next to the road on which you can park (thats great compared with others). As we reached the app door we eagerly opened the door to be met with a stunning array of pine units, nice carpets and an instant homely feel.The decor was to a very good standerd no drafts or wind noise through the balcony doors.The bathroom was clean and plenty of hot water on tap.The kitchen was stocked well and loads of cooking acessorys to choose from.A must is the cheese machine very tasty.
The main living area was large enough for our stay.Kept very warm through the night(-15).
You only have to walk out of the front door turn right get in lift and arrive at the slopes takes 4 mins to get sking YES
We will be going again! and again!!!
i would recommend to any family going to les arcs....
perfect.

The bad points.

Well there is only two things if im honest.

1, Getting your bags ect up to the app wow i was sweating it was proberly all the food we took with us lol.DO NOT LEAVE YOUR BAGS

2, The prices of food................................
DO-NOT go to SPAR .......£3.00 for some beans
catch the bus to arc 1600 then get the funicual to bourgh st maurice go out the station then turn left it will bring you to LIDL which have normal prices.It doesnt cost to travel on the funicular if you have a lift pass.
You must be loaded if you can shop on the resort lol lol
We had 3 x pancakes and 2 x coffe and it cost £27.00
Please take all your own food with you.
And thats it
Just one other thing
CAN NOT WAIT TO GO BACK

A super spot

We recently stayed at this appt in March and found it to be a super ski location. The appt is located very close to the shops and nursery slopes. The appt was very well equipped and the replenishable stock of basics is very much appreciated if you arrive late. We had a very comfortable stay and found the free bus links to the other resorts very useful. I would not hesitate to stay here again if only to experience the great views from the appt balcony.
