Newly built and available for the first time in the 2005/2006 ski season this apartment is located in the picturesque village of Les Carroz, situated 1200m up in the French Alps. This traditional resort is part of the huge Grand Massif ski area and is situated only 70km from Geneva's international airport. The apartment consists of 2 bedrooms, one with double bed and the other with a bunk bed, plus a mezzanine which has on it twin beds. The light, airy apartment has a large open plan kitchen and living area with a good size balcony with spectacular views toward the Chaine du Reposoir on the opposite side of the valley. The apartment is well appointed with oven, hob, microwave, pressure cooker, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. There is also a TV, DVD and stereo with CD player. The apartment also has a ski cave and comes with a covered parking space at the door.

Skiing

The area is split into the Massif and the Grand Massif; 3 green, 14 blue, 9 red and 2 black runs make up the Massif area and we recommend you take some time to experience the Grand Massif as well, which offers 13 green, 41 blue, 56 red, and 15 black. The powder bowls in Flaine are superb and at this elevation(2500m) you are normally well above cloud level so don’t forget the sunscreen. In total there are over 265 kilometres of piste to explore. There are two ski schools in Les Carroz. www.esf-lescarroz.com and nouvelledimension.com. You book online or email them direct. . The ski school’s torch-lit descent is not to be missed – it starts off with fireworks and ends with vin chaud and live jazz in the square. Also the Cascades piste which is 14 kms long, (one of the longest in the alps) down into the village of sixt Fer à Cheval has some wonderful scenery. Start at the top of Les Grandes Platières. From Sixt, a free shuttle bus takes you to the main telecabine in Samoëns.

Non skiers

Non skiers have plenty to do - try an Air balloon flight, a night time luge’, dog sledding, indoor tennis, ice skating, snowshoe outings…

Golf Information:

Set at an altitude of 1900 metres (6,200 ft), the Flaine golf course is open to both experienced players and beginners. Every tee on this course offers wonderful views of the mountain ranges all around: Mont Blanc, the Jura and the Belledonne range. This is not a particularly long 18-hole course but it is technically demanding, and players are faced with a varied range of challenges and delights. Putting greens, driving ranges, chipping areas and practice bunkers. Course open to all members of the FFG or holders of a handicap card. There are no handicap requirements. Beginners' and advanced courses, private lessons and weekend competitions. Club house with food bar and terrace with a panoramic view.
