Les Carroz d'Araches in the Grand Massif, less than one hour from Geneva, was established in 1936 and is one of the oldest traditional ski resorts in the Alps. It is linked to Flaine, Morillon, Samoens, and Sixt which are the other stations in the Grand Massif, and includes 265km of downhill ski runs. The resort is suitable for all levels of ability from easy greens for the newest beginner and children to the most challenging blacks for the experienced skier. Les Carroz has the charm of a traditional alpine village combined with all modern amenities. The resort is an ideal family location with restaurants and bars for all tastes, shops, crèche facilities, choice of ski schools and numerous activities.

The chalet’s location offers dramatic views across the valley looking up to the slopes of Les Carroz and Flaine. From the lounge or balcony you can even watch the last skiers come down. Trappeurs A is a 10-minute walk into Les Carroz town centre where the ski gondolas start, next door to the chalet block is the bus stop serviced by the free regular ski bus in and out of the centre of Les Carroz. The first floor is finished to a luxurious alpine standard of Les Carroz accommodation. Its traditional wooden furniture is top of the range, produced by local craftsmen.

There is so much to do in Les Carroz even if you do not want to get carried away with the winter skiing or summer hiking. Besides the restaurants and bars, you can see and do so much. Our chalet is ideally in the centre close to the offices and bureaus to book these activities.

Les Carroz and the Grand Massif have something for everyone whatever level your are. Climb higher and higher into the mountains, then let yourself be carried away by the exhilarating feeling of floating down on a cloud of white powder. 1 cable car, 4 gondolas, 26 chairlifts and 49 draglifts give you access to a paradise of 134 pistes for all standards. For 2004/2005 brand new 8 person gondola lift replacing the previous 6 person lift, even less likely to experience delays when skiing form Les Carroz. Grand Massif 1140-2500m The Grand Massif includes 265km of pistes. It links five resorts 5 linked resorts: Les Carroz, Flaine, Morillon, Samoens and Sixt. The highest point is 2500m. There are 80 lifts and 134 pistes. The total vertical descent is 20000 metres. Marked, patrolled and mechanically groomed: 13 green 41 blue 56 red 15 black Marked, patrolled but not mechanically groomed: 10 black Capacity: 73 500 persons per hour.
