Winter season:
The resort has 125km of well maintained slopes, comprising of 44 ski slopes. The ski area is also part of the 'Evasion Mont Blanc', 450km of slopes divided between five Mont Blanc area resorts. With so many ski runs, the resort is suitable for all levels and boasts a championship level ski park and a half pipe for snow boarders. There are also two beginner slopes in the village. The village has snow, which lasts from December to April. The ski school has many English speaking instructors for both adults and children and a crèche is also available. There are many other resorts that are linked to Les Contamines and for those who enjoy adventurous skiing there are the resorts of Chamonix, Les Houches and Courmayer in Italy. The village has many other winter activities such as cross country skiing, snowmobiles, dog sledding and a natural ice skating rink in the village
Summer season:
Les Contamines is an excellent location for those who want an active holiday or just want to take it easy. For those who enjoy walking, Les Contamines is on the Tour de Mont Blanc walking route. The cable cars operate in the summer, so take the opportunity to ride up to Signal and enjoy the mountains where on a mountain bike or just on a walk. The village offers mountaineering, rock climbing, mountain biking and horse riding. St Gervais located just 5 mins drive away has an outdoor swimming pool, tennis courts and an indoor ice rink. The leisure park in Les Contamines has crazy golf, tennis, boating lake, trampoline, paddling area, play ground and three adventure playgrounds.
The village:
Les Contamines has a good selection of bars, restaurants, creperies and rental shops. There are 2 supermarkets, butchers, 2 bakeries, ATM machine, post office and bank. There is a market every week and in the summer there are many concerts, competitions and events organised, details of these can be found in the tourist office. Due to its great location, there are many day trips that can be taken, to Italy and Switzerland and for those less adventurous to nearby town such as Chamonix, Megeve and Annecy.
