Residence Kandahar was completed at the end of 2005 and provides fantastic ski-in, ski-out accommodation right opposite the Bellevue Cable Car in Les Houches. Named after the World Cup descent which passes close to the building, the accommodation has been finished to a high standard in modern Savoyard style with a mixture of solid timber, plastered walls and tiled floors. The accommodation comprises a double bedroom with French doors onto the balcony, a twin bedroom, main bathroom and separate shower room, both with WCs, and an open plan lounge and dining area with kitchen, also leading onto the balcony. There is a comfortable L-shaped sofa-bed in the lounge meaning that up to 6 people can be comfortably accommodated. The facilities include a flat-screen LCD TV, DVD, CD Stereo and dishwasher. The balcony has wide views along the Chamonix Valley. and there is secure underground parking.

Les Houches is situated at the base of the Chamonix Valley, a 5 minute drive from Chamonix town itself. It is well placed to take advantage of the variety of ski areas in the Mont Blanc area, including St Gervais, Megeve, Combloux, Les Contamines, Courmayeur as well as Les Houches itself and Brevent, Flegere, Grands Montets and Le Tour in the Chamonix Valley. All are within a 30 minute drive. Les Houches itself is quieter than its larger neighbour, so retains some of the charm of an alpine village.

Skiing and snowboarding: Chamonix is one of the world's most famous ski areas, having hosted the first Winter Olympics in 1924. Skiers and snowboarders of all levels are well-served in a variety of differing areas around Chamonix, including Brevent, Flegere, the famous Grands Montets and Domaine du Balme. The Mont Blanc pass also covers nearby areas including Les Houches, St Gervais, Megeve, Courmayeur and Les Contamines, all within an easy drive. Slightly further afield, but within an hour's drive are Verbier, La Thuile, Flaine and Les Carroz. Despite its reputation as an area for experts only, there are plenty of green, blue and red runs to satisfy beginners and intermediates alike. For the more experienced, Chamonix has miles and miles of adventurous off-piste, including the famous Vallee Blanche, an 18km experience from the Aiguille du Midi down to the town.

Summer and the rest of the year: With the draw of Europe's premier natural attraction, Mont Blanc, Chamonix never sleeps. Whether it's simply to soak up the stunning scenery or get the adrenaline pumping, there is plenty for everybody to do all year round. There are a wide variety of marked trails for hiking and trekking; well-maintained bolted routes for rock-climbing; limitless mountaineering opportunities including Mont Blanc itself; an ever-expanding network of mountain bike trails; some of the most consistent thermals for superb paragliding; raging white water rapids for rafting and hydro speeding; canyoning and abseiling down the spectacular valley gorges; golf at the Trent Jones Sr designed 18 hole course in Chamonix, as well as many other top quality courses nearby; the sports centre has an indoor and outdoor 50m swimming pool and a large grassed sunbathing area, water slides, numerous tennis courts, gym, spa, Jacuzzis, the list goes on!
