Small traditional wooden chalet attached to larger one, built in 1994. Close proximity to Swiss and Italian borders ( 5 minutes from Mt. Blanc tunnel ) and 10 minutes from Chamonix. Easy access from Geneva airport (motorway or train). Fantastic views of Mt. Blanc range. Excellent skiing (all levels), climbing, hiking, swimming, tennis, canoeing and para/hand gliding.

The accommodation and local amenities: Part of a development of 4 large chalets in a peaceful alpine setting, the chalet is ideal for 4 and comfortable for 6. The mezzanine adds space and French windows open onto a small garden. Within walking distance of nearest supermarket and bus connections. Les Houches has restaurants but head to Chamonix for night life where there is also a casino.

Winter activities: Ski the famous Vallee Blanche or any of the 13 areas covered by one ski pass all within half an hours drive. Special snowboarding areas designated although no restrictions on any areas in 1999. Covered skating rink in Chamonix open all year. Open air rink in Les Houches open until snow melts in village. Cross country ski routes. Ski hire available in Les Houches.

Summer activities: Swim in an Olympic size open air pool in Chamonix facing the Mt. Blanc or join multi coloured para gliders in the sky! Mountain biking, horse riding, golf, white water rafting, summer sledging, canyoning and rock climbing. Endless walks in the local mountains.

The Perfect Place to Discover Provence

My husband and I spent a week at this apartment in October, 2008. We were delighted with it: it's immaculate, nicely decorated, and the view from the large, private deck is breathtaking. The enchanting town of Lorgues is but a few minutes away by foot. There are countless wineries in the region, and owner Yvonne was helpful directing us to them and to other must-see sites, such as the near-by Gorge de Verdon, where we canoed. In short, the apartment is perfect and perfectly situated, and an ideal home base for exploring the Vars region of Provence. We would return to this spot in an instant!
