Ski & Non-ski activities:
For skiers The Meribel valley is vast , but also linked to Courchevel,1850, 1650 & 1300, La Tania, Mottaret, Val Thorens and now the 4th valley of Orelle, accesed from the top of Val Thorens , via one of the highest lifts in Europe. There are over 200 linked lifts and over 600kms of marked pistes, plus numerous off piste areas and Couloirs. For boarders both Meribel & Courchevel have snow parks.
For non skiers, try husky sled riding, ice skating, bowling and swimming, beauty spas or walks on the marked paths.
Nearest aiport is Chambery (55 mins) serviced by Flybe & Jet 2 from Soton, B'Ham, Exeter, Newcastle, Manchester, Leeds & New Globespan from Edinburgh. Or Grenoble, Lyon & Geneva serviced by BA, Easyjet Ryanair and Air France.
The pretty & traditional village of Les Allues is linked by Gondola and free ski bus, or by car you are just 5kms from the centre of Meribel or 3kms from Meribel-village ( this lift has no queues and free parking). Lift passes can be pre-booked on line.
Summer activities & Tour de France Bike race.:
For golfers, the world class 18 hole course at Meribel is just 3km away. Special events take place in July & August, but the course is open from June-October. In summer many other activities range from, river rafting, fishing, tennis, canyoning, canoeing, paragliding, mountain biking, hiking and staying in remote overnight refuges. Swimming in Lake Annecy, renowned to be France's prettiest is just 55 min away. Or try Bozel Lake, just 15 min drive. The village also has free tennis courts with stunning views. For pampering there are 2 beauty spas, for kids or young at heart try the Adventure Park, archery, kiddies bungee jumps & skate boarding. There is even a toddler park!
Every July, the Tour de France bike race goes through the Meribel Valley or passes within 45 mins drive. A spectacular event!

Meribel-Les Allues is the centre of Les Trois Vallees, (the Three Valleys), the largest ski area in the world, with 204 linked lifts & over 600 kms of well groomed pistes. The Meribel Valley alone is vast & linked to Couchevel, 1850, 1650 & 1300, Mottaret, Val Thorens, St. Martin du Belle-Ville, Les Menuires and now the 4th valley of Orelle accessed from the top of Val Thorens via one of the highest ski lifts in Europe. Skiing is suitable for all abilities with good green, blue, red & black runs, & off pistes, for snowboarders, Meribel & Couchevel have snow parks. Non ski activities include snow shoe walking, husky sled riding, ice skating, bowling, indoor swimming & beauty spas.
The pretty traditional village of Les Allues is linked by Gondola & free ski bus. Smaller than Meribel town, with a friendly atmosphere, without crowds.
