Chalet Le Monal is a lovely three bedroom penthouse apartment on two floors in the centre of Sainte-Foy Ski Station. It is situated near the central ski shops, bar, restaurant and ski school and is about a minutes' walk to the nursery slope and main lift. It sleeps 6 adults in comfort in a double bedroom, with en suite shower room, and two twin bedrooms. There is also a double sofa bed in the lounge for an additional 2 adults and enough space in the upstairs bedrooms for travel cots if you have small children. The kitchen area has built in oven, hob, fridge and dishwasher. It has a good sized south-west facing balcony with spectacular views of Mont Pourri and down the Isere Valley. There is a ski locker on the lower ground floor of the building. The apartment makes a perfect base for skiing in the winter or for walking in the summer.

Location: Sainte Foy Tarentaise in France

Sainte Foy Ski Station is situated high on the Northern slopes of the Isere Valley roughly half way between Bourg Saint Maurice and Val D'Isere. The Sainte Foy ski system is set in a beautiful open part of the valley with lifts from Sainte Foy station at 1550 metres to the top at 2600 metres. As well as the marked runs with a drop of over 1000 metres there is huge off piste potential from easy tree runs near the slopes to routes off La Foglietta, routes back to Sainte Foy via back bowls and the idyllic hamlet of Le Monal and randonnee / ski touring routes to neighbouring villages or into Italy. The massive Paradis Ski ( Les Arcs / La Plagne ) and Espace killy (Tignes / Val D'Isere ) ski systems can be reached in about 10 minutes and 20 minutes respectively by car. The town of Bourg Saint Maurice with railway station, banks, hypermarkets and more ski shops is also about 20 minutes away by car.

Le Monal is excellently situated for the Ski slopes, which are enjoyably quiet and there is plenty of off piste skiing suitable for all standards. The 3 bed room apartment is quiet and peaceful. The shops and bars being easily accessible when needed.The property is well maintained with plenty of space and suitably equipped with a homely feel to it. The views across the mountains are fantastic. We have just booked for our third stay in this property.

Chalet Le Monal is a well maintained 3 bed apartment with lots of home comforts. It is ideally located close to all amenities and the slopes. The resort of Sainte Foy is perfect for families with ample ski area, no queues for lifts and empty pistes - feels like your own private ski resort!

Other than the weather( which we have no control over) and the bathrooms it was a great spot.You are right in the center of town and could walk to your restaurants and stumble home from the Bar which is right below you. You can walk to the ski lift and rental shops as well.Unfortunately the weather was foggy so this was not a great asset but when you could see the view was fantastic!
Now to the bathrooms--the ensuite shower is not usable because it leaks into the kitchen below. Secondly in North America a bathroom means a toilet, wash basin and tubor shower. Well in France it means the toilet is in a seperate room and there was only one toilet for 5 adults! This was difficult when everyone is trying to get ready to go skiing in the morning. It needs another toilet for that many people. Otherwise it was great.
Owner's Response: The en suite shower was repaired shortly after the guests sending this review stayed at the apartment and it has been fine since.
Most similar apartments in Sainte Foy in this price range seem to have a single separate toilet too.
