Chalet Silva has been newly completed to a high standard and is spread over two floors and a mezzanine. The ground floor has the four bedrooms; two double bedrooms (both ensuite), a twin room, a bunk room and a separate bathroom. The first floor has a large living area leading directly onto the south west facing balcony with table and chairs. The living area has plenty of comfortable seating, a log burner and CD player (with iPod connector), perfect for relaxing after a tough day on the slopes. The mezzanine level has a double sofabed. Chalet Silva is situated at the foot of the Le Tour ski area approximately 50m from the La Vormaine beginner slopes. The chalet is part of Chalets de la Vormaine, a complex of four brand new luxury chalets, sharing underground parking and gardens, built in the heart of the tightly knit Le Tour hamlet. In summary, Chalet Silva provides guests with modern chalet comfort for up to 10 people in a superb location where they can ski/board to the door.

Le Tour is a small village nestled at the top of the Chamonix Valley. It is one of the 5 main ski areas making up the Chamonix ski area and offers a range of runs for all levels, from the nursery slopes of La Vormaine (50 metres away) to the off-piste opportunities off the back of the ski area. In summer, it offers countless walking routes as well as the best mountain-biking in the Valley. The bustle of Chamonix town itself is just over a 10 minute drive away, with Argentiere just 3 minutes away. The entire length of the Valley is served by an efficient bus and train service which is free to guests.

Skiing and snowboarding: Chamonix is one of the world's most famous ski areas, having hosted the first Winter Olympics in 1924. Skiers and snowboarders of all levels are well-served in a variety of differing areas around Chamonix, including Brevent, Flegere, the famous Grands Montets and Domaine du Balme. The Mont Blanc pass also covers nearby areas including Les Houches, St Gervais, Megeve, Courmayeur and Les Contamines, all within an easy drive. Slightly further afield, but within an hour's drive are Verbier, La Thuile, Flaine and Les Carroz. Despite its reputation as an area for experts only, there are plenty of green, blue and red runs to satisfy beginners and intermediates alike. For the more experienced, Chamonix has miles and miles of adventurous off-piste, including the famous Vallee Blanche, an 18km experience from the Aiguille du Midi down to the town.

Summer and the rest of the year: With the draw of Europe's premier natural attraction, Mont Blanc, Chamonix never sleeps. Whether it's simply to soak up the stunning scenery or get the adrenaline pumping, there is plenty for everybody to do all year round. There are a wide variety of marked trails for hiking and trekking; well-maintained bolted routes for rock-climbing; limitless mountaineering opportunities including Mont Blanc itself; an ever-expanding network of mountain bike trails; some of the most consistent thermals for superb paragliding; raging white water rapids for rafting and hydro speeding; canyoning and abseiling down the spectacular valley gorges; golf at the Trent Jones Sr designed 18 hole course in Chamonix, as well as many other top quality courses nearby; the sports centre has an indoor and outdoor 50m swimming pool and a large grassed sunbathing area, water slides, numerous tennis courts, gym, spa, Jacuzzis, the list goes on!
