Chalet Fleur Rouge is a refurbished traditional chalet in central Chamonix and a short walk to the Brevent ski lifts. The ground floor comprises an open plan kitchen, dining and lounge area with traditional wood-burning stove and French doors onto the terrace. There are 2 large sofas (1is a sofa bed) and 3 bar stools. The kitchen is fully equipped with several design features including hand-crafted units, a wine holder and traditional timbers. The dining area has a large table with seating for 8. Upstairs, there are the 3 bedrooms and main bathroom. The master bedroom has exposed beams with an architecturally designed ensuite shower room. The 2nd bedroom has its own balcony and has zip & link beds, giving the option of a double or 2 single beds. The 3rd bedroom has full size bunks with all the bedrooms and bathroom having amazing south-facing views of the mountains. It is ideally placed for access to restaurants, bars and supermarkets, as well as the slopes - a rarety in the Valley.

Skiing and snowboarding

Chamonix is one of the world's most famous ski areas, having hosted the first Winter Olympics in 1924. Skiers and snowboarders of all levels are well-served in a variety of differing areas around Chamonix, including Brevent, Flegere, the famous Grands Montets and Domaine du Balme. The Mont Blanc pass also covers nearby areas including Les Houches, St Gervais, Megeve, Courmayeur and Les Contamines, all within an easy drive. Slightly further afield, but within an hour's drive are Verbier, La Thuile, Flaine and Les Carroz. Despite its reputation as an area for experts only, there are plenty of green, blue and red runs to satisfy beginners and intermediates alike. For the more experienced, Chamonix has miles and miles of adventurous off-piste, including the famous Vallee Blanche, an 18km experience from the Aiguille du Midi down to the town.

Summer and the rest of the year

With the draw of Europe's premier natural attraction, Mont Blanc, Chamonix never sleeps. Whether it's simply to soak up the stunning scenery or get the adrenaline pumping, there is plenty for everybody to do all year round. There are a wide variety of marked trails for hiking and trekking; well-maintained bolted routes for rock-climbing; limitless mountaineering opportunities including Mont Blanc itself; an ever-expanding network of mountain bike trails; some of the most consistent thermals for superb paragliding; raging white water rapids for rafting and hydro speeding; canyoning and abseiling down the spectacular valley gorges; golf at the Trent Jones Sr designed 18 hole course in Chamonix, as well as many other top quality courses nearby; the sports centre has an indoor and outdoor 50m swimming pool and a large grassed sunbathing area, water slides, numerous tennis courts, gym, spa, Jacuzzis, the list goes on!
