Chalet l'Achouta is a very comfortable chalet, enjoying stunning views over the surrounding mountains of La Clusaz. La Clusaz is one of the little known Gems in the alps. Primarily a French frequented resort, it is known as one of the very best ski areas in France. The chalet is situated 5 mins from the nearest ski lift and with a bus stop outside the door, convenience is the key. The village centre is 20 mins away on foot. With a fully equipped kitchen the chalet is perfect for self catering holidays. In winter relax in front of the homely log fire, talking of the days exploits, and in summer enjoy the huge garden, where children can play in safety and you can enjoy a B-B-Q on those balmy summer evenings.

Notes to the rental rates

• Prices are based on self catering for the whole chalet. Rental periods include the night of the last date indicated. Arrival and departures are on Saturdays (see below).
  2 week rentals will benefit from a reduction of 50 to 200 euros, depending on the period.
  
• Transfers to and from Geneva airport are available. We are also able to do transfers to and from other properties in the immediate area. Please contact us for details.
  
• We offer B&B all year round if the chalet is unoccupied. So if you are looking for one or a few nights B&B, please call us. Rates are 25 euros pppn.
  In addition, during May, June, September, October and November, we will be happy to discuss midweek arrival and departure.

La Clusaz

Is an traditional resort built in traditional Savoyarde style, with wooden farms and chalets. Still a working village, many of the population are engaged in the production of the acclaimed Reblochon cheese, the village still retains a rustic charm. There is a market each monday morning and various events are organised each week during the winter and summer seasons. There is plenty to occupy non skiers.

Activities

La Clusaz is a mecca for activity enthusiasts. There are around forty sports available from archery to white water rafting. These activities can be tailored to suit your requirements. Lake Annecy is just 25 mins away, and here you can take part in any water sport you could think of, including scuba diving and wake boarding.

Relaxation

Outside the main winter and summer seasons, the area is heaven for those wishing to chill out in beautiful surroundings. In spring the alpine meadows are a riot of colour and in autumn the turning leaves provide a breathtaking scene. Visits to the old town of Annecy and the medieval village of Yvoire are a must and there are numerous historic sites to visit. Other visits include the waterfalls of Sixt Fer à cheval and the extraordinary Gorge de Fier.

Skiing Information:

Situated at a height of 1100m rising to 2600m and with 132 Kms of piste spread over 5 interlinked mountains, La Clusaz is an ideal resort for all standards. If you add Le Grand Bornand (on the same pass and linked by free ski bus (10 mins), there are 225 Kms of piste as well as 4 extensive Cross country areas. Snowboarders are well catered for and there are 2 Snowparks for their enjoyment. Mountain restaurants are good value and the nightlife vibrant, if not manic. Restaurants are of a high standard, and the prices extremely reasonable. For non skiing travellers, there are a host of other pursuits available including dog sledding, paragliding and quad biking.

Golf Information:

With nine superb 18 hole golf courses in the vicinity, Chalet L'Achouta is an ideal base for your golf holiday. The majority of the courses are set in spectacular scenery and are in excellent condition from May to October. Two of the courses were designed by the Trent-Jones family. Another, Evian, is host to the Ladies European Masters, giving a general idea of the quality of the courses. This is good golf country in stunning surroundings. Prices range from £25 to £40round, and so compare favourably with other golfing hot spots.
