Chalet l'Achouta is a very comfortable chalet, enjoying stunning views over the surrounding mountains of La Clusaz. La Clusaz is one of the little known Gems in the alps. Primarily a French frequented resort, it is known as one of the very best ski areas in France. The chalet is situated 5 mins from the nearest ski lift and with a bus stop outside the door, convenience is the key. The village centre is 20 mins away on foot. With a fully equipped kitchen the chalet is perfect for self catering holidays. In winter relax in front of the homely log fire, talking of the days exploits, and in summer enjoy the huge garden, where children can play in safety and you can enjoy a B-B-Q on those balmy summer evenings.

La Clusaz is situated in the Aravis range of mountains, 1 hour south east of Geneva and 35 minutes from the beautiful lakeside town of Annecy. There are numerous other resorts within an hours drive, notably Chamonix, Megeve, Flaine and Les Portes du Soleil, making La Clusaz an ideal base for touring around. There are nine good quality golf courses within easy driving range. Excursions to many other historic sites, such as the medieval village of Yvoire are practical if you have a car.

Additional information about rental rates

  • THIS CHRISTMAS: Friday 18th Dec to Sun 27th Dec for the 7 night price of 2000 euros.
    Prices are based on self catering for the whole chalet. Rental periods include the night of the last date indicated. Arrival and departures are on Saturdays (except where srated. See below).
    2 week rentals will benefit from a reduction of 50 to 200 euros, depending on the period.
  • Transfers to and from Geneva airport are available. We are also able to do transfers to and from other properties in the immediate area. Please contact us for details.
  • We offer B&B all year round if the chalet is unoccupied. So if you are looking for one or a few nights B&B, please call us. Rates are 25 euros pppn.
    In addition, during May, June, September, October and November, we will be happy to discuss midweek arrival and departure.

Notes: There is a flat screen TV, video recorder and DVD player (bring your own films etc). We have just installed a freeview satellite system so you can keep up with the news etc.. A selection of board games and an extensive library is available for your use. Also available is a midi Hi-Fi system, so please feel free to bring your own music. Please note that one of the 2 bedded rooms only contains bunk beds. An additional bed can be made available by special arrangement. Generally, therefore, the accommodation is for 11 persons. There is only one shower room. The other shower is in the double bedroom. We do have another property for rent. This takes up to 5 people and is 5 minutes walk away. If both properties are rented, a discount will be applied. See property 68868.

La Clusaz: Is an traditional resort built in traditional Savoyarde style, with wooden farms and chalets. Still a working village, many of the population are engaged in the production of the acclaimed Reblochon cheese, the village still retains a rustic charm. There is a market each monday morning and various events are organised each week during the winter and summer seasons. There is plenty to occupy non skiers.

Activities: La Clusaz is a mecca for activity enthusiasts. There are around forty sports available from archery to white water rafting. These activities can be tailored to suit your requirements. Lake Annecy is just 25 mins away, and here you can take part in any water sport you could think of, including scuba diving and wake boarding.

Relaxation: Outside the main winter and summer seasons, the area is heaven for those wishing to chill out in beautiful surroundings. In spring the alpine meadows are a riot of colour and in autumn the turning leaves provide a breathtaking scene. Visits to the old town of Annecy and the medieval village of Yvoire are a must and there are numerous historic sites to visit. Other visits include the waterfalls of Sixt Fer à cheval and the extraordinary Gorge de Fier.

Other Activities: Over 40 available in the village. Water sports available 35 mins away on Lake Annecy.

An excellent place to stay

A large group us spent a week in this chalet in April and had a great time. The chalet is a 15 minute walk out of the village but is on a bus route so theres no problem getting to and from the slopes. The chalet is very comfortable and was spotlessly clean. I'd recommend this very highly for either a family or a group. Mel was very helpful and was able to pick us up from the airport for a very reasonable amount. We enjoyed our stay so much we are going back to check out La Clusaz in the summer.
