Traditional alpine chalet, beautifully modernised and redecorated throughout and fully equipped to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The chalet comfortably sleeps 10 or 12 if you are all good friends! It has 2 spacious living areas, log fire, big kitchen table, grassy outdoor sun trap and balcony that looks out onto the mountains. Situated just out of the village of St Jean de Sixt, 5 minutes from both la Clusaz and Le Grand Bornard for skiing and within easy access of lake Annecy for summer fun. Great skiing and snow boarding, wonderful hiking trails, mountain biking, cross county skiing, water skiing, wake boarding. Within easy access of Geneva, Evian, Chamonix, Annecy, Megeve. Skiing: Chalet Gueraudaz is ideally situated between the ski resorts of La Clusaz and Le Grand Bornard. Both villages are old alpine villages that have retained their charm, set in close proximity to Geneva airport making it a wonderful destination for a short or long skiing break. If you decide to drive to the Alps, our chalet is 7 hours driving time from the eurotunnel port in Calais. We would highly recommend driving as it is considerably cheaper than Fly/Drive. The route is all Motorway from Calais to Bonneville and only the last 20km is mountain roads. Also, the only luggage restrictions are how much you can fit in! I can provide route details and good motorway stopping points should you wish to consider this option.

Other activities: The list of activities to be enjoyed is endless. A multitude of hikes with glorious views start from in and around the villages, there are 9 18 hole golf courses in the surrounding area, endless water activities on Lake Annecy (water-skiing, wakeboarding, sailing..), fabulous mountain biking terraine, fishing, rafting, swimming...

The area: For those that wish to relax and just enjoy what the French Alps have to offer will not be disappointed either! Wander through the old town of Annecy, visit the various morning markets in the villages, soak up the unspoilt rural charm and breathe the fresh alpine air.

Our Ski Holiday

The Chalet has been beautifully restored and updated and offers excellent and comfortable accomodation. There is plenty of space for a large group as the 3 bathrooms mean everyone is catered for. The kitchen living room area lends itself well to being the focal point and with its long table is great for everyone to eat, drink and play together. La Clusaz is only a short drive away and has some great restaurants, bars, shops and a supermarket. There are also local shops in St Jean de Sixt, Boulangerie, Ski Hire, small supermarket. Ther is lots of good skiing for all abilities. We have driven to the chalet and also flown into Geneva both worked well, with Geneva under an hour away. We had a wonderful holiday and would thoroughly recommend this property.

Dream chalet

We have stayed in this beautiful chalet twice now and we absolutely love it. It is in a perfect location only 10 mins from La Clusaz, has a fabulous layout, beautiful alpine style and is really super quality. The owners obviously adore their chalet as it is beautifully maintained and everything works perfectly. Being an authentic chalet, it is so full of character, but unlike some chalets we have visited, it is not at all dingy or old fashioned. It's perfect, really clean, well organised and beautifully warm. We absolutely adore the wood burning stove which is in the main living area. The boot room outside is really convenient and big enough for all of us, so no wet boots and skis inside. Brilliant! The balconies are south facing so the rooms are always bright and sunny, especially important for any non-skiing guests.

Situated in a really quiet hamlet you really feel you have escaped the resorts here. The views over the valley are absolutely breathtaking. For skiiers it's a brilliant location as there is so much choice just a few minutes drive away, and I have heard it said many times that in the summer it's equally amazing for children and grown ups alike.

St Jean de Sixt and particularly La Clusaz have innumerable fabulous places to eat and drink, and upon the owners recommendation, we have not been disappointed once. The shopping in La Clusaz is also highly varied and exciting. I would have no hesistation in recommending this property to a friend, you will not be disappointed.
