The apartment is 45 minutes drive from Geneva airport, close to shops, restaurants, Chamonix Ski Lift bus stop and 200m from the Les Houches Bellevue Ski Lift. There is secure garage for underground parking (for one car). Our accommodation is non-smoking.

Chalet Whymper is a fantastically located in the village of Les Houches which is about 6 km from Chamonix town centre. The apartment is about 200m from the Bellevue lift station which allows access to the whole of the Les Houches ski area. A short drive up the valley ensures that you can enjoy the ski areas of Chamonix as well as the tourist attractions such as the Mont Blanc views and the Mer de Glace. The chalet is well placed to enjoy the skiing and other activies that the Chamonix valley has to offer.

  • Prices outlined above are for 7 nights, sole occupancy of the apartment on a self catered basis. Bookings are taken on a Sunday to Sunday basis in the winter and there is a Saturday changeover in the summer. Flexible bookings may be available upon request.
    To secure the booking a 30% deposit is taken with the balance payment due 8 weeks before the arrival date. Full payment will be due at the time of booking if the holiday commencement date is under 8 weeks.

Apartment 3, Chalet Whymper allows you to enjoy all that the mountains have to offer during the day and to relax in comfortable and modern setting in the evening. Being in the heart of the village of Les Houches enables you to walk to the lift station, the bar or the shops.

Chamonix is a truely amazing place.

Situated at the foot of the spectacular Mont Blanc massif, the town of Chamonix is about 6 km from the apartment and it is an elegant mountain town steeped in centuries of alpine tradition. The town draws people from all over the world – both the holiday-maker and those looking for adventure, whether walkers, mountain bikers, paragliders or mountaineers. The town centre is a vibrant place full of bustling restaurants and bars. Sitting outside one of the many pavement cafés is a great way of taking in the atmosphere of the cobbled streets whilst admiring the stunning mountain backdrop. A wide range of shops offers everything from traditional regional fayre and souvenirs to stylish fashion and technical mountain equipment. The Saturday market is well worth a visit for the locally made produce brought in from all over the Haute-Savoie region.

There are a number of fascinating day trips around the Haute-Savoie region: The beautiful town of Annecy is just over an hours drive, Situated on the shores of Lac d'Annecy this historic town, often called the Venice of the Alps is well worth a visit and has a fantastic street market offering a whole host of fresh local produce on Sunday, Tuesday and Fridays. Yvoire, a medieval town on the shores of Lac Leman is full of character and charm. The famous spa town of Evian, famed for its healing waters is well worth a visit, situated on the shores of Lac Leman it is a bustling town that also boast spa and casino. There are also 5 other major ski resorts within an hours drive of the chalet, these include, Verbier, Courmayeur, Flaine, Megeve and Les Portes du Soleil, for those who are feeling adventurous.

Skiing Information:

Chamonix is a skiers and boarders paradise offering large, high altitude access to more than 150km of ski runs for all levels. The high areas have an excellent snow record extending the season well into May. The Chamonix valley offers something for everyone with gentle nursery slopes for beginners and plenty of challenging pistes for intermediates. Advanced skiers will be spoilt for choice with some of the longest, steepest and most challenging runs in the Alps and some of Europe’s finest off-piste including the world famous Vallee Blanche. Les Houches used to be considered as a satellite village for Chamonix, but it is in fact becoming recognised as a little jewel in the valley and is great for families. It's tree lined runs mean that you can ski and see here whilst all other ski area may well be in the clouds. Its nine mountain restaurantinclude some of the best in the area and the views from the top of the Prarion looking down the valley are quite exceptional.

Golf Information:

Chamonix has excellent golfing facilities. The 18 hole Trent Jones Senior course is only a few minutes walk from the chalet and is open from May until November. There are several other courses in close proximity to Chamonix, Megeve 18 hole (6100m par 72) Les Gets 18 hole (5227m par 70) Annecy 18 hole (5074m par 72) Evian 18 hole (6006m par 72) to name a few.
